I believe because he wants to say why, and You can't say why. I've watched it 3 times now, and the play calling is not that bad for what they are trying to do, it's the execution that is f**king a lot up. That misdirection play at the goal line was a thing of beauty.

I was hyped about PA after Wk1. It worked great and they did it a ton. Every week since they've cut it back.

Maybe you have to be able to run the ball for the defense to respect the run enough for PA to work?

Would you want to turn your back with this OL? LOL Please Steelers fire OL coach and bring in a run game coordinator.

You can call the perfect play. If it doesn't get executed right, it doesn't matter. In basketball players miss the perfect shot all the time. That's why most basketball coaches are very balding.

Smith is holding back. If you watched his pressers with Atlanta, he doesn’t mince words. He’s probably trying to adhere to the Steelers way of doing things here.

I never wanted Arthur Smith in the first place, so no surprise, that said it's also no surprise the offense looks like garbage, because it always looks like garbage and has done for many years.

    ONE CONSTANT THOUGH.

The team always looks the same on offense and it always looks the same on defense.

    ONE CONSTANT.

Did You just start watching today???
The Offense didn't look the same as the offense (I'll just go back a little) Arians ran.
The offense don't look the same as Haley ran.
The offense doesn't look the same as what Randy F ran, and the offense doesn't look the same as what M. Canada ran not a bit. Just because something isn't getting done, doesn't mean it's not being done differently, and this is where I wonder if some actually watch the games.
Now Here is where I get the .....You are sticking up for Tomlin, or the... we are so, and so in the playoffs, because they really don't understand what they are watching, or they don't actually watch and that's their last straw they clutch. LoL.
Yes we haven't done well in the playoffs, that doesn't mean we are running the same offense.

In case there were any lingering questions about scheme mattering in the NFL:

Don't much care for Arthur Smith's play calling.

It’s hard to get anything going in the passing game if they can’t give Rodgers even a little time.

    Legit question:

Did the lightbulb all of a sudden go on for A. Smith and his gameplanning? Or, did he get a giant assist from Rodgers on the gameplan and playcalling. Clearly Rodgers is very familiar with MIN's defense and it makes sense he would put in words to Smith on what could work against them.
They were talking about the fact that the RPO was particularly effective, a play with both run and pass options and the QB makes the final decision based on defensive looks. Rodgers seemingly made almost all the correct calls.

Maybe he had a assist from Rodgers and I have zero problem with this if this is the case, but when Rodgers was in the NFC north, the vikings had a complete different defense(under Mike Zimmer).Flores become their DC in 2023 and Rodgers was now with the Jets

Maybe the awful game of Rodgers last year vs vikings helped him for this game!

I suspect so as well. It is maddening but it is efficient if the results mean adding wins in the win column. That said, the Offensive Line must continue to gel. Week 4 against a Top Five Defense and the performance they had was easily the best of the season for them. Moreover to the point, that is the Broderick Jones this team needs moving forward.

Up next for him?! Myles Garrett. Like him or hate him, he is a First Ballot HOF EDGE all the way around. Gonna be a big test for BroJo.

AR hasn’t played in the same division as Minnesota since 2022. Minnesota’s defensive coordinator came on in 2025. So AR is no more familiar with Minnesota’s defense than you or I.

But AR has a lot of knowledge and any offensive coordinator not named Canada will certainly solicit his input.

No. It doesn’t. You couldn’t be further off base if you tried.
