pretty good read. interesting. personnel changes are a possibility but these are vets and it shouldn't be that difficult for adjustments. if adjustments are being made. by this point of the season after training camp these things should be working. yes we have some injuries but isn't that why they have so much veteran depth to step in? yes we could bring in holcomb and bently but they are more run stuffers and do they think teams will just continue to run at them instead of throw over them?

is this staff capable of making changes to overcome deficiencies from the last two games with personnel moves only to create other problems and then not adjust to those in game?

i don't think MT is tactical enough on the fly to not create other issues for the defense. then OMG it's too loud in your own stadium on defense? really? i know it's just an opinion about this but until we see some changes it looks to be pretty accurate. nothing from the past has made it look any different. it takes them weeks to fix a problem.

Communication issues stem from the days thar Dick LeBeau retired. This has been an ongoing problem since 2015. It is now 2025; a full decade later.

This is unacceptable; period. One common denominator is still present. Until that is gone, expect more of the same.

    The end.

For me this problem with a lack of communication is a result of not having the defense work through the links in Preseason. A lot of new faces and none thought of having them on the field and working together until the season started.

Yes, the defense is behind and trying to find a way to work together, it is just a shame that have to do this during the season, be ause everyone wanted to take the Preseason off

saying it's too loud in acrisure is a stupid statement to make to your home crowd and that's the reason you can't play good defense. BS.:bscow:

Just read an article in Tribune Review , Accursure Stadium is 11th most expensive Stadium in NFL. Fans are not getting very much bang for their buck.

I was only there for a game once and I had good seats. I can only compare it to Lincoln Field in Philly. When my friends take me their seats are one row from the top. You can actually feel the stadium sway.

Lincoln Field was the most expensive Football experience in NFL,
    But they are World champs.

Can't they use a type of sign language?

Or are they too "slow" to make pre snap decisions?

Dude go back the last two years when Dick Lebeau was the DC. Most wanted him gone because it was too complicated a system, and we couldn't play rookies, or do adjustments on the fly.
All you have to do is go read them.
I have come to the conclusion that no matter who is the coaches, people forget the past, and color it kindly, and then complain about whomever is the next coaches.

Except that, despite it being complicated a defense, the communication issues were almost non existent. This defense?! Man...

Maybe the weirdest excuse I've ever heard. Playing at home is an advantage for 31 other teams.

that is also when the MT take over was going on. DLB used to complain about the type of DB's MT would bring in as a man player and try to convert to a zone guy. then they would bring in or draft zone guys and want DLB playing more man at the end. DLB said he would play whatever defense but give me the corners that could do it. MT was all about applying the tampa two and running it as a zone blitz defense. it never did jive well and DLB was gone and MT took over even with new DC's. now here we are.

    Difficult to say.
Back in the day, there was no "communication" as we know it today. You left the huddle with the play and and few defensive audibles
    Then came the packages.
I don't feel like describing all the changes... times were different. It's the new NFL.

I don't think "too loud" is a very good excuse.

Maybe go back to the covid days.... that might help the defense.

Or, do they have noise cancellation helmets nowadays?

Being away today shouldn’t be a problem for the Defense then.

Losing Tom was not the start of Belichek's failures at NE, but it certainly showed quickly. While not directly the same, you can correlate a guy who was given near complete authority, insulated himself with staff he was comfortable with, and refusal to adjust, grow, and change.

One example, when we lost Ryan Shazier, he was of course a unique and possible HOF type of player. You do not find them often, not replace that talent easily, but if he was A+, what grade would you give the draft and FA's brought in since that injury. No you are not going to find a Shazier, but make the adjustments with scheme and staff to compensate...instead we are still talking about the same communication issues.

How many times to you have to say 'duh' to see the core issue?

Except that’s not what they said. Part of their communication problems were due to being unable to hear. So they started using hand signals.
The horror! They identified a problem and were proactive in addressing the problem. How dare they

that is exactly what they said. being loud has always helped the defense and hurt the offense. that is why home field advantage helps because of crowd noise when the other team is on offense. not our team. this isn't something they should have just come up with at this point in the season. the offense isn't going to wait until every defender gets the call.
