Injury Updates

Most of us are well aware. But human nature being what it is, we also feel like we are stuck on ground hog day. Yes, it could be far worse, but it could be better too. I think that the most frustrating thing for a lot of us is the many years of talk about big changes followed by what looks to be the exact same game plan and faces from year to year. We don't feel like we are progressing, we are just spinning our wheels instead of making that next leap.

This is honestly the first year in quite a while where I feel like they have made a legitimate effort to change trajectory. It would be nice if we had a younger quarterback instead of a 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers. However he does have skill and a wealth of experience. I'm hopeful that they have given him the weapons he needs to succeed and push us forward. Our defenses is always going to be solid and I don't have any worries there. I think the tools are mostly there on the offense to do okay, but our o-line is my biggest worry. If they're not very good, our entire offense in a world of hurt.

It’s too bad about Harmon I would have loved to see him out there but can’t really complain too much about this report. Herbig might even be able to play although practice will tell Mikey his story.

Steelers defense with the upper hand in this one. VT was good.

 

While I never wish injuries on anyone, it's bad for them, good for us.

 

How many times have a Steelers opponent had some OL injured and us fans thinking it would be an advantage for the Steelers, then they don't pile up the sacks in that game .

 

It happens, but it won't happen if someone steps up when they try doubling TJ. Also the team that lost the player knows they lost the player so they will do everything to avoid it happening, and don't look for Fields to be dropping back to pass 30 times anyway.

It wasn't just waiting for someone besides TJ to step up, it was the starting RT being out and TJ not dominating.

 

They still doubled, and tripled, or checked him. Dude I promise, if people start stepping up when they do this, you will see a difference. Why do you think they keep drafting pass rushers . They see it happening. I like Highsmith, but outside of one year, he hasn't done $hit, and he gets stymied by one on one all the freaking time.

 

I have seen Watt go one on one in those situations and do nothing plenty of times.

 

That's awesome. I wonder how he gets those double digit sacks year after year, after year, after year. While being chipped, doubled, and or Doubled, and chipped at one of the most high rates in the NFL. While Highsmith has only hit double digit once in 5 years, and he is almost always singled up. What's his freaking excuse???
Our style of D works best when both outside LBs are hitting double digit sacks. Not just one so the OL can cheat that way. Look at the last 3 SBs we've been to, All the OLBs had double digit sacks except Clark Haggans, and he had 9 in the only 13 games he played that year.

 

I am predicting a HUGE year for TJ after being paid a kings ransom. something tells me he is going to be a bigger force then usual

 

We will see if Herbig goes full today although Tom Sawyer might not be the worst option against a run heavy Jets team for back up OLB.

 

And at the end of the year he's nowhere to be found
