Perfect win for me would be 17 -3. One offensive td, and one Defensive td, and BoZ.
I actually like Defense, and I'm not a fantasy football fan.
I much rather see us keep all the teams we play to 10 points, or below, then to see us score 40 points a game. Just my preference.

Not me. I want total annihilation of the opponent. Score 40+ points a game, hold opponent to under 10 points. Juggernaut offense and elite defense.

I know this is a pipe dream and not really possible in the modern NFL. :smiley1:

Same here. I'd love to have a few stress-free Sundays where the Steelers have it won by early/mid 3rd quarter. Seems like every game goes down to the wire with Boz kicking the winning FG or Steelers getting owned early on... and can't close the gap and losing.

This is why the 2004 season was so magical. Most of the games were at 1pm. Steelers defense was suffocating opposing offenses... and we had a rookie QB that blindsided the entire NFL.

I don't understand you, one minute you talk about blowouts, and the next the 2004 season being magical. There was very few blowouts that year, and I believe our D only kept the opponents under ten points 4, or 5 times that whole year. There was many a nail-biting games that year. Both games I went to that year ,were down to the wire.

Just about all the games were at 1pm. It wasn't stressful because Steelers weren't expected to do as well as they did because of 6-10 the year before. Low expectations... and we won every week, with the exeption of Ravens game when Maddox was injured. I remember we had the Patriots and Eagles... 2 best teams in the league, beat quite handily by the end of the 3rd quarter.

So yeah... there may have been some close games, but at least there was hope back then. We don't really have that now. Steelers are not competing with Bills, Chiefs, Ravens, Bengals (if their D is any good).... unless any of those teams lose their starting QB to injury.

You know the Steelers offense is struggling week 1. Fields is limited passing but could hurt us with his legs .Low scoring ugly game likely.

Im not sure it would be that low scoring. I’m thinking the winning side gets 13 to 17.

I remember Tomlin not winning a playoff game in 8 years. You can un-hug Tomlin's nuts anytime now.

Steelers went up 42 to 7 against Denver

That was the last time I felt comfortable with a lead before the game was over

What about the playoff game against Denver in 2009 (?) when we scored 21 in the first quarter. That was a comfortable win in a big game.

I think you are talking about the AFC Chip game in 2005?

the games during the dynasty years of the 70’s were stress free too. Those games were fun to watch. We all knew what was coming on Sunday (as did the opposition im sure).

That was 2005 run. Steelers imploded in 2009. The starting of a trend for Popcorn.

AFC Championship of '05 season was beautiful vs Broncos... and low stress compared to previous playoff games vs Bengals and Colts. Ben's throw to Hines Ward in the end zone when Champ Bailey and 2 other DBs had him covered, ended up being a perfect TD.

There is always a lot of talk about disguising defenses and the flex defense etc

After SB IX Fran Tarkenton said he would be in the huddle trying to decide what play to call and he would look over and the Steelers were already lined up in their defense

Fran said it was like this is what we are going to do what are you going to do about it

    :smiley1:
