I wonder if the Tampa Bay Bucs message boards made fun of getting a 43 year old QB??????????

The desks I had through elementary school had a hole in the upper right corner for your ink well. Although by the time I started we used pencils, the desks were all stained up with ink from the previous generation of kids that used them.

And the globes had 'Constantinople' as the city in Turkey.
    Penmanship was a subject.
it would be 10 more years before I heard the word 'computer'.
Your teachers were allowed to hit you.
You walked to school. Schools didn't have parking lots.
    The Steelers weren't on tv.
( I remember a time when the Steelers were the.....third....most popular sports team in Pittsburgh.)
We cheered for AFL teams more because the reception on the rabbit ear tv sets was better on the channel that broadcast the weekly football game more than the NFL game on the only other channel we got.

Yes all of that is true. When I was in first grade we had a ceremony where our old flag of 48 states was taken down and our new 50 state flag was raised. My dad always bitched and complained about Alaska and Hawaii being added. He said "those damn places aren't anywhere near America!"

I used one of these for years but it had refills rather than using the well

Ruined many shirts because I forgot to put the cap on

My wife is from New Mexico and she still meets people in Pittsburgh who don’t know it is a state  and to add insult people tell her she doesn’t look Mexican and (her heritage is Scandinavian Blonde hair blue eyes)

I fly a very old 48 star flag on Memorial Day that was given to my family by the military during ww2 and a continental flag on 4th of July
