You know it’s bad when I’m the only positive one around here… Maybe this is the year :coolcool:

Rodgers last year would be the best QB play we’ve had since prime Ben. Depends on OL and RB tho… we have to be able to run the ball to give him a chance since he can barely run now.

I like Warren but not sold. He hasn’t been the main guy since 1 year in college. Gainwell is tiny. One RB injury and we are screwed imo. Injury prone QB we have to be able to run the ball or seasons over!

We have the best group of corners probably ever. Going to give Watt/Highsmith/Cam those extra seconds. This defense could be scary and among the best but we need one legit safety imo.

Young talent where?? Everybody is saying OL is one of biggest question marks and we used 2 of last 3 first round picks on online and it’s below average.

Yeah, I’m not sure how you approach this because he might take a lil less to stay in the Burgh. Tag him or tell him 1 year deal + RFA. He would make a lot more taking 20-30m for this year than signing long term with a team who’s willing to open up the check book. Is he willing to bet on himself? He should have a career year considering we finally have a competent secondary.

The team doesn’t need a rebuild. You could argue they are already half way through one having drafted linemen heavily for the past three years

They have a lot of draft picks and cap space over the coming years. They need to use those resources wisely and above all else find a long term QB if at all possible

If the steelers would been smart they would keep Brian Flores and put him as DC after 2022 and they also keep Matt Canada after 2022 too

we grabbed a BIG BODY RB in the draft, you saw that, I presume? KJ will be a HAMMER if our DUMMY coaches know what to do with him and the other 2

If the OL can do ITS JOB and if Rodgers can THROW the LB back a bit, we will see. Give me a 15th ranked offense and our strong D and maybe we can win a playoff game

    MAYBE

At my Dr appt today I read something interesting. All the talk about about Myles Garret guaranteed money and it seems the Browns gave themselves an out. It is only around 60 million in the first year, then they could conceivably get out of it if they cut, doubtful that happens, but it is a loop hole.

The highest paid malarkey is just show, what really matters is the guaranteed money. Doubtful TJ would accept something like that, but there are ways to get around this.

Mahomes or Allen could get injured, the Eagles could get complacent or get riddled with injuries themselves,

yeah, in other words SB is a long shot.

And i think were going to feel the loss of Pickens

He gained 367 yards on 97 carries that year.... so no, I wouldn't really consider that quality output when determining a weapons group. He had a nice year in 2021, but went back to 3.5ypg the following year (essentially ending his career). He was a good player in Jacksonville (and for one year in Tampa), but I don't necessarily consider him as that great of a player. He had 3 good years in his first 5, then found his way out of the league by 28.

Eh, I don't necessarily agree. The NFL is seeing a lot of "bend but don't break" style defenses nowadays. Essentially DC's are trying to make teams go 14-15 plays if they can. Teams are going to score points... its just making them earn it. Defenses are living and dying on the "splash" play. You see a ton of "vanilla" defense on first and second down, and occasionally something exotic on third down to try to force an error and get the ball back. Its actually very "new age" in our approach. I think it can be quite bland and unexciting at times because we got used to LeBeau and all of his cool blitzes, but its the way of the league nowadays.

People keep saying what a great coach Arians is why didn't he fix Winston?

This is not like Winston was good before or after 2019.Even in his last year in college,he had too many interceptions...Arians was still a very good head coach in his short career.Great head coach,I don't know but still a very good one

Outlier how? He's a lot better than mediocre, and he's not 40 lol I get that he isn't an "elite" QB, but he's a far cry from Trent Dilfer winning the SB. He's more like prime Russell Wilson or Eli Manning in terms of how good he is.

rodgers head hasn't been in the game for a couple of years now. it's too bad he still has some talent left because he should have left the league.

I'm not sure any of our CBs are even...average NFL CBs.

If OT strengthens, our OL is strong.

We don't have a thumper on defense like Harrison, ryan clark or the steel curtain. Ol' Cam is the closest.

I feel like we're just killing time until we get our franchise QB.

I expected both Cam and watt to decline in 2024. watt did, cam did not.

khan has us in good position with both contracts.
last year for watt. if he declines, don't re-sign him. if he stays good, then franchise him for 1 more year.
heyward under contract for 2 more years. if he declines this year, cut him with no (zero) dead cap hit. if he doesn't, let him play out his final year.

    nice job Khan.

As long as the common denominator and his enabler are still running the show I can't see major success in the post season.

Archaic schemes that have lost their shelf life is a major reason on both sides of the ball.

The Bucs with Brady was the coached by the "Retired" Bruce Arians the head coach who is an offensive innovator.

AAron will be coached by another dinosaur in Smith. The difference.

    (1) CAN'T THUMP like those days
    (2) franchise QB is over-rated. We had Ben and could not win SB's. Eagles won w Foley a few years ago. Hurts is very good, but far from HOF talent, just has GREAT coaching and a SOLID team around him
    (3) our CB staff is solid - some are saying Top 5 in the league

That franchise has been run by the biggest buffoon owners for over 50 years so I'm not so sure it's an apples to apples comparison (although the current Rooney has been making a case for ineptitude). I would be OK trading TJ for the right draft capital and offloading that huge paycheck. I don't think the cupboard is as bare as it was 2-3 years ago at LB. Not to mention TJ seems to disappear when they need him the most. It's fun to watch him be a game wrecker at times but it also comes with its fair share of frustration and head scratching moments as well.
