I give it an A. We got two good players in return for one and improved both sides of the ball without giving up significant draft capital. That makes it an excellent trade on paper, in my opinion.

Miami is taking 3 mil... and he gets a raise to $26mil (details aren't available) but it's close to those numbers.
    Minkah's cap hit was $24.4mil...
We traded 29 for 31 year old and inherited a contract till end of 2027 ( I think it was)
If we renegotiate, it is good.
I'm not negative on the deal but like some other guys, a little puzzled by S, TE when we need WR most.
It may work as I see Smith as a good move.

B+, Minkah was declining, Ramsey seems to still have something left in the tank and we get a pro bowl level TE

Have to edit this post. Started to reply to a post and decided against it. Somehow that ended up looking like I gave it an a. Still standing on my first post in the thread

It's hard for me to grade because I liked Fitzpatrick a lot.

That being said, I like the two players coming in also.

A question mark for me is Ramsey as the guy was probably the top corner in his prime. He was pretty amazing and cool to see him here to help give some swagger to this defense hopefully.

I don't think TE was a huge need but I do like the players and it looks like they can move him outside to create mismatches.

I don't think Washington will ever be a high volume target player, they got Jonnu another offensive weapon by not giving up much. They still have time to get another WR and it probably won't be a big name player.

Miami had already given Ramsey 4 million this year then gave him another 3 million to facilitate the trade.

The Steelers ran 13 personnel the most last season expect that to continue with Jonnu on the team.

CB is a higher rated position than safety. I think Ramsey will be much like the Joe Haden signing.

I don't think he has lost a step and his experience will pay dividends.

My question does this do anything to JPjr? A lot of flags last year. Can he learn from Slay and Ramsey. Are Slay and Ramsey potential starters?

I so not think you can really grade it until the end of the year. Since the end of last season I have heard multiple times from different places the front office wanted to break the glass ceiling and get a play off win, certainly I think Omar wants more, but the near desperate hail mary moves seems the attention is to get that monkey off their back, then what? You cannot get to a championship game or SB without winning that first PO game, so there is that, but it seems they are putting every effort for this one shot..and that's fine, I just have seen many different instances from different teams in the past and the results are far from pleasing. That said we have stayed in this frustrating place for years, so whatever happens should be interesting.

I think Smith is a much bigger pass catching threat but still don’t think TE was as pressing a need. Guess we will have to see how Rodgers and Smith incorporate him.

Here we go again. As soon as player is gone, "reports" surface that he was doing something way out of line.

    I give a C
    Ramsey is on a decline
Smith had a great season last yr. Was it a one off type of season? This will be his 9 season. Hopefully he continues his success pairing back up with his old HC.. Arthur
    Analysts gave Miami an A
    Gave Steelers a C

Steelers are definitely a different team than they used to be. Used draft to build a good team , now they are trading for players past their prime.
    Times are a changing.
I wasn’t too happy about Arod, but since its only 1 year, hopefully Howard can learn from him.
I like Mason, but it is what it is, he is a career backup.

A couple of years ago would’ve been an A plus for Ramsey.
TE situation is kinda mind boggling.
    Friermuth
    Washington
    Smith
I guess Muth isn’t developing like they thought he would. Muth isnt a good blocker. Plus, multiple concussions.
Smith is in top 15 for pass protection.
    Run blocking is abysmal.
Washington still young, is this is 2 or 3 season? Need to see if we can utilize his size in RZ.

I don’t know if it’s our offensive game plan or Washington doesn’t have the talent to be a RZ threat?
He is like a mountain towering over defenders

yep, I did not think the splash plays he generated would necessarily continue at that level, also did not think the production would go to that lower level. Some of that can be explained by scheme, etc...but have never heard the talk in that thread, did hear about the lousy communication..but who the hell was calling the plays and had the green dot? Wasn't Minkah.
