The Bucs have traded Revis for $96 million dollars. Now this just makes me wonder something. If Revis is THAT good why in the world would you let him go? Did the Sanchez payday put them in that much of a bind? What do you think is really the cause for this?

The Jets owner didn't want to pay him what he and his agent were wanting (15-20 mil a yr I think i read...if not more). Also Revis had some type of opt out in his current contract with them after this upcoming season and something about not being able to franchise him either. Not to mention the guy has held out a time or 2 already (sometimes with a couple years left on his deal). So there was a high chance they'd loose him after this year and get nothing (except maybe a comp pick in 2015 of a 3rd rounder)...so they traded him to get something for him while they could and more than they would if he left as a FA. So the Jets get some compensation...and Revis gets his money...both are happy.

It wouldnt surprise me if they use one of their 2 first rounders on a new CB now.

As a side note I am SOOOOO glad the Steelers did not draft this guy years ago. Yes he's a good player...but for all the headaches he's caused and money he's wanted it would have been a wasted pick.

Huh? They traded him for the 13th overall pick this year and a conditional pick next year.

And I'm shocked about this...but the contract the Bucs signed him to...does NOT include ANY guaranteed money. Its 13mil base a year...with 2 different 1.5mil bonuses to equal his 16mil. So its almost like a year to year contract. Also he still counts towards 12mil in dead money to the Jets (ouch).

Yes a 1st and what should end up being a 3rd...but stands as a 4th round now.

granted, he's been the best corner in the league for a while now, but the bucs still gave up a lot, and paid a lot for a guy coming off an acl

I live in Tampa and they love it. Schiano is a coach I really like too. I love the fire off ye line move. Game is t over.

Thr only fear I have for them is so many big egos. I think their HC can keep them all in check though.

Plus I know the glaziers he is a real nice guy, for looking a bit like an elf?
