I have never heard that Pro Teams were taking out Insurance Policies on their own players when they sign large contracts.

I know college players will take out insurance policy on themselves in case they get injured in college, but I never heard of a Pro Team taking out an insurance policy on a Player to be able to get paid back by the insurance company if the player gets injured.

The first part of this story is about Houston trying to get their money back from the insurance company after Bagwell gets injured. Houston files a $15.6 million claim the day before the insurance policy was set to expire.

I understand that Oneill Cruz tried to insure his attention span but no one was willing to underwrite the policy.

Glad you liked it, Steel. I try to give us something to smile about during this, the summer of our discontent.
I just made some Mexican street corn and checked to see if the Pirates had traded or released Pham. Not yet. At least the street corn was good.
