Rodgers is likely here just for this season why not load up and try and make a run at it. Go get a legit WR2 and go after Jalen Ramsey if he gets cut by Miami, not mortgage their future but make some additions to compete with the better teams in the AFC.

    :herewego!:

    This makes zero sense

They have set themselves up to go after a quarterback next year

It makes sense, until it doesn't. which is the land scape for many if not most daily podcasts screaming the what ifs that have not (and likely will not) happen. Once they get TJ settled, the rest of the formation of this team will be what they have in camp, or perhaps signing vet camp cuts, if all in means sacrificing draft capitol and immense future CAP bucks on aging vets, hoping to get magic land on aging vets then the mind fu** illusions are real. Maybe Rodgers has a mind and body resurgent season that resembles him in his prime, perhaps he and the team are actually good enough to make us old farts buy extra depends just in case the excitement spills out. whatever, just here to enjoy the season and let the realities play out as they will, lol.

    Why, we don't know if.....
    1. Howard can, or can't be the guy.
    2. If any of the Qbs coming out next year will be great
    3. Or if we can't still get a Qb next year

I think on paper they have improved. I expect Rodgers to be a better fit and a better player than either of Wilson or Fields. Harmon and Black should hopefully help with run defence which was a disaster in 2024 when Cam wasn’t on the field, and while it’s debatable whether Metcalf is an upgrade over Pickens at least they shouldn't have any WR1 drama. You also have Fautanu coming back which is going to be like an additional first round rookie.

Khan is a patient GM and I expect that he isn’t done with this roster. To me it makes sense to try to supplement what they have with another proven WR and cornerback and try to make a run. They will need an awful lot of things to go right but they can do it without blowing up their future so what not?

I`m starting to think 2027 will be the year we go for QB in the draft in 1st round. 2026 will be the garbage season IMO.

From what I've read so far everything is hunky dory with Aaron. He saying he looks forward to helping Howard develop.

Some people on here discount Howard right off the bat. Saying we should focus on getting a "franchise" QB next draft. How the hell can you guarantee any QB is going to be a franchise. Granted someone like Burrow seemed a shoe in but that is rare. Just think Montana and Brady. A 4th and a 6th.

I do believe we can compete if Rodgers stay's healthy and focused. I just can't see him playing all 17, then 18, then 19;)

The die is cast as they say. Might as well try to win so we can enjoy this season.

Maybe KC will have a bad year somehow and the door cracks open if everything goes perfect for us.

This was my one caveat with signing Rodgers, they aren’t going to know what they have in Howard going into a good QB draft class.

Unless Howard just undeniably has that “it” factor in practice, they’ll be using a first rd pick on a QB and maybe they didn’t have to.

If in training camp this kid is showing promise... then you have to make a few concessions.
If we are ahead, led him play some.
If we are out of it, I am hesitant to bring him in, but maybe.
Run him out for a change of pace offense. Extend Rogers by giving him a breather.
But I would say Howard has to be showing good signs of promise.

I also think that Rogers will miss plays from time to time..
I just don't want to rush Howard too soon...

I know the people in Denver are trying to forget, but you forgot the Roxies who lead the NL and MLB pack at 62. Now lets see if Bucs can pass the Rocks. I know Cruz is sure trying.:drinks:

Howard is going to be QB3 and be inactive, he can only play as the emergency QB..

You beat me to this. I had to flip over to the MLB standings at the thought of anybody beating the Rocks to 50 in the L column.

To put it another way, the Pirates have 32 wins entering today. The Rockies are currently on pace for 36 wins on the season. :lolol:
