1 SB trophy, been to another and 20 seasons without a losing record, he’s probably a lock.

Why is Nick already a HOF coach? He may never get back to the SB again and he’d be no different than Tomlin who is only in the playoff contender tier.

Why is Jim in the elite tier? Think you need to see how his time with the Chargers goes before deciding that. His time with the 49ers was good but short. Can pretty much question everyone in that tier besides Payton.

ML football (source of the graphic) doesn’t even have a live website, if you click through their site is down because they haven’t paid their domain fees

This ranking isn't really credible and isn’t worth getting annoyed over

MT could probably retire today and go to the HOF but another playoff run and especially a Super Bowl would move him up a tier in a lot of people’s thinking. His lack of recent playoff success is now very much a point of discussion in the national media. He could do no wrong up to fairly recently but his legacy is starting to come under scrutiny more and more.

If he has another non losing season but loses another first round playoff game then his HOF chances pretty much tank as well. Certainly not a lock.

I would be very surprise if Tomlin is not in the HOF

Thats definitely weighing him down, thats a bad streak and another mark in the negative column is the horrendous finishes to the seasons they have been having.

On the opposite side, another one for the positive column is keeping them in the playoff hunt every year even after Ben retired. Getting there with the likes of Trubisky, Pickett, Rudolph, Duck, Fields and Wilson during that time.

But yeah, that whole list is suspect. Makes sense what you said about the site.

IMO, Tomlin isn't HOF material yet. He needs to win or appear in another Super Bowl with HIS players... not Cowher's. :lolol:

Marty Schottenheimer had an impressive win to loss ratio... and non-losing seasons. Is Schottenheimer in the HOF?

List makes absolutely no sense. Also you can't take away what someone did before, just because they aren't doing it now. Tomlin, and Carroll should both be above a lot of those HCs, and equal with all of the HOF HCs because as of right now, they all ,except Andy Reid, are about the same. Either that, or drop everyone from the HOF except Reid.

I believe if the chargers players don't make a interception or fumble after that on a fourth down against Brady and the pats,I believe they would win the super bowl and Marty would been in the HOF

The difference between Marty and Tomlin,Tomlin has been in 2 super bowl and it matter for the voters even if it was early in his career

No. Marty choked in several AFC Championships and never reached the Super Bowl. John Elway/Broncos pooped on those parades in the mid to late 80's. At least Marty made AFC Championship appearances with HIS players. :lolol:

This is not a dig on Tomlin. All sports have lowered their criteria of what it takes to make the HOF.

Tomlin went to two SB’s winning one. Marty doesnt have that on his resume. HOF voters aren’t going to say yeah but Cowher players.

Fans can complain about the lack of playoff wins but before Tomlin contract expires, he will pass Noll in wins by next year most likely.

Schottenheimer had a 'similar' career. 21 seasons (4 teams), but he had losing seasons in year 15 and 18. Tomlin (1 team) has no losing seasons in 18 seasons (so far). Tomlin also has a better regular season w/l record (.630:.613), and a better post season record (.421:.278). So while they are similar, Tomlin also beats him in most areas including SB wins/appearances.

Barring something crazy like finding out Tomlin is deeply involved in something illegal, he will be a first round pick for the HOF at his earliest chance.....imo

If they have an objective look at his career they should. It’s been night and day since the inherited team retired. Non losing regular season BS not withstanding.

Noll took over a piece of crap team and built it into a bad Mofo. And had less games in a season. Tomlin was gifted a good team.

I think Noll was 22 years with us. Tomlin 18 I believe. Tomlin will pass him unless 2025 season is a huge disaster and Rooney wakes up.

Calling no losing seasons BS isn’t being objective. Nor is ignoring what he has done with the trash heap of QB’s since Ben retired.

Does he not have part in that QB issue? You think he can actually develop a QB? I certainly don’t. Sorry 9-8 or 10-7 seasons and 30 point WC beat downs doesn’t impress me.

19th year as Steelers HC with no postseason wins in 14 going on 15 of those seasons with a current 8 year dry streak. That doesn't sound like HOF to me.
