If Rodgers can put up similar numbers like he did last year 28 TDs and 11 ints, and they get contributions from Fautanu and Roman. Also Warren and Kaleb Johnson could be better fits for Arthur Smith zone scheme running game than Najee was.

There is certainly a chance that they are better than 2024, if so the improvement has to come on offence. I think Rodgers can potentially give them a more balanced and more efficient offence.

As we have been saying for the past number of seasons the offensive line holds the key. If that group comes together it’ll unlock a potentially much better offence. We are so used to the line being putrid that it’s almost hard to imagine them being good, but the talent is there. I do wonder if it’s a year too soon for them to be a real plus unit but we will see.

They need to bring in another proven pass catcher, they’ll probably wait until a bit later in the summer to do that. You never know who’ll be available.

Im not expecting any major incremental improvement on defence but a better offence will help that unit too.

11 wins, so one more win than last year, and Me winning the over/under for about the 5th year straight.

    Agree completely.

I’ll add: One place we fell down last year was predicating the offense on a strong run game - and if that didn’t get established, it was painful.

Imorove on that, the team has taken a big step forward.

    Not 100%

They did make Gerald Alexander the DB coach

I know that doesn’t sound like much but one of the biggest problems the defense had last year was lack of communication among the DBs

Per Minkah that is something Alexander is pushing now and probably why his predecessor was let go

I would say yes but with much more cautious optimism. Two positions concern me more than any other; Corner and Offensive Tackle. Wide Receiver is an honorable mention.

Cornerback is still a bit of a question mark for me personally. How much more does Darius Slay Jr have remaining?! Will this be the season Cory Trice can stay healthy for all 17 games?! What about Joey Porter Jr?!

He is my second favorite Khan pick but his performance in 2024 was less than ideal given his rock solid Rookie Campaign. Having Gerald Alexander back could definitely help but time will tell on that note. Beanie Bishop Jr saw his snap count decrease by seasons end and with newcomers Donte Kent Jr and Brandin Echols, can he hang onto the starting spot?!

As for the Tackles?! Troy Fautanu I had going into the Top 10 in 2024. I was ecstatic when the team got him but saddened that his Rookie Season ended so abruptly; 56 snaps total. This season is essentially his Rookie Season in a sense. He is more prepared this time around but no doubt there will be growing pains along the way. Broderick Jones though?! I have been on record in saying that what the likes of Mike Tomlin has done to Broderick should be NFL Personnel 101 on what not to do with Super Raw players. Broderick only had one full season at one position; Left Tackle. Heading into 2025, he has more time accumulated at Right Tackle than he ever did at Left Tackle at Georgia.

Will this be the season in which Broderick Jones puts it all together?! I sure as hell hope so given how it isn't based on the fact he is my favorite Khan pick. Broderick Jones panning our does wonders for Pittsburghs 2026 Draft Plans. The team will still need depth for sure but won't need to draft as high should Broderick pan out.

Healthy Rodgers we be better. I think we had about 2000 yard rushing last season. Even without Najee I can see same or better this season.

I could see a 1-2 game improvement from 2024 but key is Rodgers health and attitude.

It will depend of Rodgers...He need to be much better that last year.Last year he was like Ben at the end of 2020...Good TD-INT ratio but too many quick short pass,so the opposing defense had only 2 seconds to cover the receiver every time and this is easier to defend when this is always the same thing

I said 9-8 or 10-7 and a wild card exit at best for now

    Missing Najee Harris.

The only RB currently in the NFL to rush for 1,000 yards in the last 4 years.

The only RB in Pittsburgh Steelers history to rush for 1,000 for the first 4 years to begin his NFL career.

I just laugh at the people who say how easy it is to rush for 1,000 yards, when nobody but Najee Harris can do it.

They are weaker at running back.

Their line might be better, but they are counting two major question marks at tackle.

Receiver is no better than last year, when it was one of the weakest groups in the league.

The defense got a year older and added an ancient starter at cornerback. They might be better if Harmon is ready to be an impact player as a rookie.

The safest bet for them being better is Rodgers, who is 42 and wasn't great last year with the Jets.

No, I'm not sure you can say they are better right now, but maybe they can be if some young guys take a big step forward.

I think we will be 9-7 going into the final game against the Ravens. If the Ravens already have their seeding set then we win against their backups and go 10-7. If the Ravens need the win to clinch the #1 or 2 seed then we finish 9-8 and probably miss the playoffs.

No losing season again and again and again but no playoff win either with another over the hill q.b. and sorry head coach. Getting tired of watching what looks like reruns of F troop.

This view is always a little amusing. Even if the Steelers seem incrementally better, it doesn't factor in that the rest of the league is theoretically improved this time of year as well. This is especially true in the division where the CIN offense was a house afire at the end of the season. If they can resign Hendrickson and their first round pick on defense they are a real threat, especially so because their schedule is the easiest in the division.

BAL is always tough and a hell of a safety dropped right in their laps in the draft. And Mike Green is a legit edge rusher as well.

CLE? Well, gotta have one gimme in the division and this one is it.

So, on balance the Steelers might look a little better but so does the competition.

The team is hanging on to a frayed rope in Rodgers to rectify the anemic offense. Just not seeing it. Hope i'm wrong.

The defense needs some innovation. Archaic stale schemes will show much of the same. But a dinosaur is in charge so I don't see it.

I believe it will be much of the same. Just enough for the participation trophy with no playoffs or an one and done situation again. Or possibly seeing a losing season.

    A lot of "What Ifs"

Here’s how I’m seeing the roster (setting aside major injuries):

QB (+) We know who the starter is, and he’s better than either of last year’s starters. How much better will be big in determining how far we go.

RB (Even/+) I don’t think we’ll be worse at the position, but I’m not ready to say that KJ is a clear upgrade either.

WR (Even/+) I don’t think it can be worse, but whether the WR room is materially better likely depends on Wilson being the guy that his college film suggests he can be. The best case is that he develops a Randall Cobb type of connection with Rodgers.

TE (Even) Depends on whether we better utilize the TE in the passing game.

OL (-/Even/+) By far the most volatile position grouping that I think can be better or worse (or the same) than last year. It all hinges on the tackles. The success of the offense really hinges on those two young players.

DL (+) Yes, I am counting on Harmon being an upgrade by mid season. I also think that the guy we signed from New England (name eludes me now) can provide depth, and Logan Lee may be ready to chip in quality snaps.

OLB (Even) I like Sawyer, but barring injuries I don’t see him getting enough snaps to make the room materially better - Yet.

ILB (+) Queen and Wilson will be in year 2 with more familiarity. Holcomb is quietly a solid player when healthy.

    S (+) Thornhill > Kazee

CB (Even/+) On paper this group should be better, but we really need a true second outside starter. Maybe Trice is ready. Maybe Slay has another year of good play yet. Those are real question marks though. Also, JP Jr. hasn’t really arrived yet. He’s solid but needs to grow year over year for this group to be really good.

My expectation is from 9 - 11 wins. 11 wins plus some postseason success, while still building for the future, would be a successful outcome IMO.
