I agree with all this. I'm just saying that if Lamar Jackson isn't in the top 4 then who would you put in there ahead of him.

Yeah, Stroud is a good QB... but Allen is top 2 with Burrow, IMO.

I'd rank 'em as follows.... Burrow, Allen, Mahomes, LJ, Stroud, Hurts.

Seriously, I don't completely disagree with that.

I often criticize our defense come playoff time, but the Bills have the same problem... Very good stats in the regular season, but they're at their worst when it matters most.

And McDermott took over the play calling on defense so it's all on him now.

The NFL season MVP lost all meaning to me when it was awarded back to back to Farve who then admitted he was addicted to pain killers and alcohol. Then instead of quietly deciding to let the story go they still tried to say how courageous he was. End of the day it's a participation trophy.

The only time I might add in 2024

Mahomes is still great but not even close to what he was in 2019-2022. Remember that Mahomes in 2024 had one of his lowest ever statistical seasons under Reid. This isn't to say the Chiefs are done for but it is to say that the gap between the Chiefs and the heavy hitters is getting smaller.

I like Qbs to play the position as it was intended to, distribute the ball, read a defense, run ,but run to throw, not run to run, and that has been the most successful throughout the history of the NFL.....even though the NFL has alway had running Qbs. I know You young guys are infatuated with it, but us older guys that have watched for longer, we have already seen this, and it why we laugh when people act like it's new. I can't remember there never being running Qbs.

I agree, but just when I started to respect it again, they turned around, and gave it to a Qb that had 5 Qbs with as many or more TD, and 5 Qb with as many or more Yards. It has become a popularity award.
Don't believe me look at the last two, or three years. Gave it to Lamar when they shouldn't have, and then turned around, and gave it to someone else when Lamar probably should have gotten it. It's a popularity contest now.

Same way with the DPOY award. They give it to Garrett based on a newly created metric when every previous metric used showed as good of a season as Garrett had he was still behind Watt except for PFF's new percentage a player gets home vs a block. Doesn't matter if there is a sack, a forced fumble, a pressure, or a QB hit just that he "got home"

Every NFL Award is this now.

For that matter, the NFLs "new" Protector of the Year Award, a rebrand of the Offensive Lineman of the Year Award in the 1980s, will be nothing more than a popularity contest. That said, this doesn't surprise me at all. What I care about more now is how All Pros are handled now vs a generation ago.

... doubly so First Team All Pros and how specific metrics, such as Pass Rush Win Rate, will now determine who obtains such awards.

It used to drive me nuts that when the Probowl voting got announced every year Alex Mack and Joe Thomas were always tops for Center and Tackle even though they never won anything in Cleveland let alone led the teams to playiff success but it was like a forgone conclusion that any other AFC center would come up being snubbed in favor of Mack, Saturday, or Mawae

In the Defense of Joe Thomas, he is up with, oddly enough, both Ogden and Munoz as the greatest ever pass protectors in NFL History. Ironically enough, those three had to deal with the hellacious pass rush Pittsburgh has been outputting since the 1970s... or since 1982 more specifically. Each of those men had to be among the very best ever for the likes of Baltimore, Cleveland and even Cincinnati to compete against Pittsburgh (more so Baltimore and Cleveland as Cincy was the AFC Team of the 1980s so to speak).

As for Alex Mack?! As you said, he definitely got a lot of Pro Bowl nods but Mawae and Saturday (maybe anyway) are HOF Centers. Mack was great but only for a short period of time.

Dude I've been saying that, but somehow it makes people mad. All of our best tandems worked because the other made them pay if they doubled one side.

That's after Tomlin had confirmed his winning season.

    Huge difference.

He’s still the best. I don’t see Burrow, Allen or anyone else taking that Chiefs team to the SB. They had an aging Kelce as their biggest receiving threat.

Had to bring back Hunt to lead the ground attack. It’s amazing he got them to the SB. The only time you stop Mahomes is when the dline completely dominates the LOS.

    He is still the best.

Question remains... for how long?! Kinks in that nigh omnipotent armor were shown last year. Again, I'd advise you to watch some of the decisions that Mahomes made.

    For that matter, FootballAnalyst did a great job of doing so below;

The chiefs O-line was a major issues in 2024(The LT position was a complete dumpster fire in 2024!)....Same for the wide receiver position in 2023.Mahomes is still great but everyone is human at some point!

Mahomes is still the QB I trust the more in close games and in big moment
