Not as good as Pickens. So you lose him next year, at least this year you have a great chance at winning with DK and Pickens. Hate the move.

Potential comp pick in 27, if we signed no player of equal value is 26....and the cancer that could have been created by him was avoided, as was the potential all star play...in business everything has a risk, the choice was to move him for a guaranteed pick in 26. If he gets 1400 yards and 10 tds it sucks, if he blows up on the 'boys training caps and holds out it looks brilliant. it is what it is.

Not surprised and, if he's the level of cancer I think he is, fine, but FFS draft another gotdamn WR. Bringing in some 30+ retread won't really help.

I understand that you are presenting speculation to justify a position that doesn't make sense.

Question for those saying that Khan didn’t get enough value. What do you people think? Do you think he has compromising photos of other GMs? Does he have the magical ability to control minds? The league put a trade value on Pickens. Period. Khan can’t force someone to pay more than the value they place on Pickens.

That is a defeatist attitude. Just because there is risk in any move doesn't mean some moves aren't really stupid.

Then don't trade him. Get the comp pick when he leaves after next season and you get a full season of two quality receivers. Also, it is only May 7. There was plenty of time. We don't know what opportunities could have come up a week or even a month from now.

I just saw a report that the Steelers are counting on Roman Wilson to make a big jump in 2025. Big jump from the nothing they got out of him last year? Great.

This is the team trying to act as if they have a real plan other than to just dump Pickens for pennies on the dollar.

I have been telling everyone that #14 will be available for DK to wear this year.

What comp pick? You do realize that the 2025 season needs to play out, he has to sign a deal, the 2026 season then has to play out, and we have to not sign an offsetting comparable FA to get a comp pick, right? Never mind the round. You keep saying we’ll get a 3rd round comp pick. There are a lot of assumptions that need to come true to get there.

of course they are - it the NFL, 2nd year players HAVE to play and make inpact. He was drafted to MAKE AN IMPACT.

do you REALLY think this team can compete, even w/ Pickens?

If we can't be a top 10 running game, then forget it.

this it Tomlin SMALL BALL - play between the 20's and kick field goals

have none of you learned this year, after 20 years?

Well, true..... can't argue that. That wasn't really my angle.

    The move still blows.
Why can't our coaching make these players work?
Why can't Pinky and the Brain figure out if it is the player or the coaching?
Do they really think signing a guy like Woods fills the hole?

You gotta admit, it is a little of a bizarro world.
Maybe they pull a rabbit out of the hat this week... I dunno.
My frustration is with the wasted effort, the lousy timing and just terrible planning.

You're not the smart one in your family are you?

We would have got a 3rd comp even if Pickens walked. A team would have landed him in a top 3 contract with ease.

The Steelers haven't had much of plan about who is throwing the ball so it really no surprise they don't seem to have a plan about who is catching the ball.

This organization is completely tone deaf on offense and keeps doubling down on a head coach that is clueless.

I remember when people thought metcalf was not worse than pickens in drama. And that we got rid of a cancer...... oh wait they're still here.

Didn't he get a few snaps in one game, but no targets?
