We're gonna trade and overpay for a WR that will underperform Pickens. Tomlin thinks we are a player away from a Superbowl.

 

We can only o from reports (and how accurate are they?), but apparently he was on the trade block for a high 2nd in the draft and no one bit. After the draft the value usually goes down and it's not surprising as he is on the last year of his contract. Have no idea if negotiations had even got started, but unless he was willing to a Higgins type deal it is doubtful anything was going to get serious. I would have loved to see him compete on the field with good surrounding talent, but let's be real, with GP you never know what you are going to get. Better to get something secured (instead of a potential compensation in 27), is the ammo enough to move up in the top 5, no, but with the picks we have Omar can do some maneuvering between 8 and 12 or so, and possibly get the guy them want.

Why would the value go down after the draft. You would think it would be the opposite. You are getting a future pick for an immediate asset. So the Cowboys are getting production immediately while we have to wait for a year.

 

We should trade the entire team and be the browns.

Seems to me they are getting an ass of picks in next year’s draft! I will try and be patient, but I like the idea of building through the draft much better than what they have been doing.
