Did we trust Pickens enough to play the whole season? Already rumors stating he was gonna sit all season

Steelers will probably get another decent WR before the season starts. I'm not worried about it. Steelers are gonna be mediocre anyway in '25... with or without Pickens.

Which is a shame for TJ… almost like Skenes getting stuck with the Pirates

I did want to see what the offense would look like with Pickens and Metcalf though :frustrated:

Its been on a few sports outlets. Like I said a rumor. We don’t know what has happened and might not never know.

This trade to me is a direct reelection of Rooney not holding Tomlin accountable for his poor coaching decisions. Trading away a disgruntled player (for about 7th time under Tomlin) is simply allowing Tomlin to run away from his created problems instead of making him deal with the player and coach him up. IN my mind the Steelers and Tomlin failed Pickens in this situation and not the other way around. Tomlin loves to run around and pat himself on the back for being a mentor of men. I happen to see it more like he acts like a peer to them and allows them to get away with things they normally wouldn’t on another team until they become unmanageable here and we are forced to trade them. His management style is avoid conflict at all costs and ignore it until you can’t any longer and thus give them a rope long enough to you know what as long as your not blamed for it and its on them.

    A third?

Dumbest trade ever. I don't ever care if dude production goes down in Dallas. This is the dumbest trade.

I guess we're tanking this year. So I'll go ahead and cancel youtube nfl.

A third and a fifth were you expecting a first round pick for a WR going into his last year of his contract ?

Thats the 'cancer' part, more to it of course, but why go into the season with that hanging over the organization. I honestly would not blame GP in some ways, you have a chance for a good contract, one injury and your career might be done. Though I dont see the 'boys able to offer anything long term, but Jerry may find a way. lol

Even if we have a plan in place to try to get Keenan Allen or Amari Cooper wouldn’t you fist have one of those guys lined up signed before you trade Pickens away. Now those guys have more leverage over you. Not to mention I don’t know how we can get any veteran to come here without a legitimate QB in place. We got Wood because nobody else wanted him.

Like the 11 wins in a row mediocre or the flirting with being 1st in the division mediocre like last year. Both turned out to be smoke and mirrors but provided some good football.

Worse due to we didn't even draft a WR.
    Pickens was productive.

    So yeah, we're worse.

I did too. It would’ve been much watch tv. Whether they were going to light up the scoreboard or one or both was going to strip and walk off field during the middle of the game:hehehe:

Does it matter? Steelers aren't competing with Bengals and Ravens this year.

You're an idiot if you believe that. Pickens would have asked to be traded before the draft.

Also if you think pickens was drama. Just wait until you see the headlines for Meta. Specially if he doesn't get his numbers his production, win games, etc. Dude gets more pissed than pickens did.

No your absolutely wrong here. Even if he is that bad of a player in the locker room and on the field the way this was all handled was very poor and reactionary by the Steelers. The timing of it was terrible. The position it puts the Steelers in now is terrible. The compensation of it was terrible. By the way by all accounts the rumors were Pickens was a decent teammate in the locker room and he was uber productive on the field.
