Who cares if they gave up a 6th rd pick two years from now.

Your friend is a fool because the Cowboys had nobody besides Lamb at WR.

I'm sure someone will come riding in on their white horse to defend this, but this team clearly isn't committed to being a real contender. I get the logic behind trading him, but a third-round pick isn't that valuable. I'd much rather keep him for a year, take a real shot, and either win him over by being a better team or move on. At some point, you've got to show you’re serious about winning.

They've botched this, and meanwhile, we're still waiting on a 42-year-old QB to make a decision that an adult would have made months ago.

Christian Watson would be an appeasing option.

My dream scenario though is Kyle Pitts from Atlanta. He is out of position and is more of a Receiver. Putting him there would be beneficial.

This is yet another terrible argument. Brady is the ultimate outlier. Counting on getting a quarterback late is foolish. Most of the starting quarterbacks in the NFL were taken in the first or second round.

Even if that is how you feel about the situation the compensation is terrible for him. You were going to get a third round comp for him anyway. Why not trade for a second then or do it in this years draft for a second or draft a wr this year to replace him so you weren’t in the same position you were in last year. Plus over half of the talented WR’s in this league would have poor attitudes and character in this offense if they wet through what Pickens has gone through. AJ Brown last year through a fit on a SB winning team because he wasn’t getting the ball enough. By all accounts he is a high character guy. Would love to see how Justin Jefferson or Jamar Chase would act on this team.

Not true for every teams and especially not to just finish at 9-8 or 10-7 at best with a negative point differential and be outgained in yards almost every games

They got robbed. They were going to get a 3rd round comp any way for him.

Take this ranking of the top starting quarterbacks in the league from NFL.com. Of the top 12 quarterbacks, 11 were taken in the first round. The other, Geno Smith, was a second-round pick. Another 12 guys on the list were taken in the first round. Three more were second-round picks. That doesn't even include Rodgers, another first-round pick.

Oops. I meant to edit the other post rather than quote myself. Oh well.

No… he knows what a headcase Pickens is. Some of you on here think Pickens has HOF numbers already!

I think they are bigger fans of having a chance of winning a SB. They dont strike me as being delicate daisies that couldnt stomach having Pickens around for 1 more year.

Where does this trade move the needle as far as salary cap numbers? Does this clear up enough space this season that the Kirk Cousins trade looks more plausible?

He might be a headcase but he's still productive, he will also have a better QB and WR1 to play with.

The Steelers have plenty of cap space available and they shouldn't waste it on a washed up Cousins.

It’s nit that I don’t like him. It’s his attitude , not a team player, very selfish. I wish him the best

Why does everyone think this is on Khan. This is absolutely on Tomlin. Think about it. We never made desperate moves like this under Colbert until his last few years which were out of character for him. Back then he and tomlin had somewhat of an equal say on the management of this team. It was apparent he was relenting more to Tomlin his last few years because he was on the way out and he wanted to appease Tomlin. When Khan came in it was very obvious Tomlin has had more control of things since then. They may be equals on paper but it is very apparent that Khan is a subordinate to Tomlin especially in this situation.

Watson tore his ACL at the end of last season, I was thinking of maybe Doubs or Reed.

Two years ago Pickens led the league in YPC with trash QBs.

Why would we trade for a terrible washed up QB like Cousins? He was the worst QB in the league last year. I'm no fan of Mason Rudolph but he is better than Kirk Cousins.
