It is both. There are certainly sacks that are the quarterback's fault, but the line has to do its job to reduce sacks, too.

Yes, he is draftable for the starting job in the NFL out of college. He took too many sacks which means he indecisive, but his interception rate is elite, and he can score at a good pace. This QB could need a year to clean up the indecisiveness/sacks. He maybe too protective of the ball. And then his scoring may suffer because his tendency is to protect the ball.
Also we want to look at his rushing ability and physicallity to determine whether he is 100% first round starter contract or second round starter with shorter leash or a year of development before starting. But, yes he should get a channce in the NFL to compete for SB out of college based on that information. First year is a throwaway year anyway, so the coaches' decision whether to speed up his decisions in training and classroom or start him right away during the first year.

 

Stats in college don't always mean everything... In college it depends on the talent around you and the level of competitionis is also important in the evaluation

It can also depend of the style of the offense....Also not always good to throw short quick throw everytime especially in 3rd down.Normally, when it's below 3 seconds, the o-line is more to blame but when it's higher than that, it's more on the QB but it always depends on the context for each situation

 

One study, which I can't seem to open at the moment, does not prove that. I'm not buying it the notion that it is primarily the quarterbacks, not when the line play is as big of an issue as it has been for the Steelers in recent seasons.

 

I don't live in the Burgh but I'm hearing stories from up there that fans won't follow the Steelers if Aaron Rodgers becomes a Steeler. Not sure if that is a topic in Pittsburgh. I hate the guy but I sure the hell would not stop being a Steeler fan. Should it happen and we look decent I'm guessing all those who stopped following would jump right back on.
