Now to be fair, our Head Coach has built a massive media reputation on 'Participation Trophies' for 15 years. He keeps stacking them one after another and says the 'standard is the standard' with no shame.

Kenny's unholy pact with the Devil paid off and he got his Superbowl Ring with the Eagles. He only had to complete 25 passes on 42 attempts (and a crappy incomplete pass in the Superbowl) compared to the hundreds of lame ducks and dirt balls he threw in Pittsburgh.

It is kind of appropriate after such a Faustian bargain to get a ring he gets traded to end his career in Cleveland, the First Circle of Football Hell.

Funniest comment over on the Browns board:

    4) Kenny Pickett really has to be Whiskey Tango Foxtrotting his current situation.

How do you know when your professional career is over? You get traded or drafted by the mistake by the lake. Poor Shadeur and KFP .. It's over for them.

I hope Pickett is renting and not buying in Cleveland.

my prediction was that Kenny would wash out of the league in 2-3 years after leaving the Steelers.

    we are getting closer

Browns should name Pickett the starter. He is the most deserving on that roster to start and take starter reps.

No better opportunity for Pickett to win the starting job, if he fails to do it now, hes destined for life as a BU. Not a bad gig if you can find it.

Yeah, no kidding. There are guys that were in the league for years, making a couple million a year to sit on the bench. Plus, those guys will get a full NFL pension which is nothing to sneeze at. There are worse lives than that of an NFL backup QB.

Kenny was going to lose the competition for backup QB in Philly next year so that's why the eagles traded him.

Kenny looks like the odd man out in the Cleveland QB room.

    Dude, No it wasn't.
There was a poll on here and you said he was the franchise for the next 10 years.

When it rains, it pours for KP:

The Cleveland Browns are declining a $22.117M fifth-year option salary for quarterback Kenny Pickett in 2026, according to Cleveland reporter Mary Kay Cabot. This news comes after Cleveland drafted former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders and former Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the 2025 NFL Draft.

I don't see how Kenny is not the Odd man out in Cleveland.

Watson will make the 53 man roster, and then immediately be put on IR because of cap/injury reasons.
Flacco is your veteran, and the only QB under contract with a guaranteed contract. $4 million total with $3 million guaranteed.
Dillon Gabriel is your 3rd round pick.
Shedeur Sanders is a 5th round pick, but will bring the media and fans with him. (Owners Choice = $$.$$)

Kenny just seems like and easy man to cut. Funny the Browns gave up a 5th round pick and backup QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson last month to bring Kenny to Cleveland.

TBH, it is hard to tell what is going on here. I think Sanders is much better than Gabriel, but the Browns obviously disagree because they took Gabriel in the 3rd. That makes him about as safe a bet as possible to be the #3 QB. It then becomes Kenny, Flacco, and Sanders for 2 spots (Watson to IR). The best two players get in. If Sanders is a problem at all, they can just cut him. If Sanders outperforms either vet, then yeah, someone is the odd man out. It could easily be Kenny (does he still have PS eligibility?). If he loses out in this camp battle, I doubt his career in the NFL lasts much longer.

One could also add Deion to the list as well. Being humbled via the NFL through your son by a team you specifically stated you and your son will have no parts of is the highest form of a humbling experience.

Here is the answer to our prayers! A quarterback who has played in a Super Bowl AND knows the way to the Steelers’ practice facility! Kenny is coming back to Pittsburgh any day now! Wait for the big announcement! I can just feel it in my bones!
Just funnin’ with you, that is probably the rheumatiz I am feeling. I would want KFP back about as badly as I would want chewing gum back after someone else chewed it.

Starter reps are precious, time is precious. Any team like the Browns or the Steelers that is in QB limbo needs to get into a new window with a new QB asap. There is no time to waste on has beens like Flacco, Watson, Rodgers, Russ etc.
Steelers already invested 2 years worth of starting reps in Pickett and that is great for the Brown. Dillon Gabriel is a laughable proposition at 5-11. Shedeur needs a bit of work, he could benefit from sitting. There is no one on that roster better to start than Kenny. They should give him the window and invest starting reps.
If they decide to give those reps to Shedeir, I can understand. Anyone else is a waste of time on that roster.
