There is no scenario where trading Pickens leaves us with more talent.

 

Trading Pickens would be dumb. It will be another 2024 all over again. We will have one WR in Metcalf, and Mason Rudolph. Lol

 

He may have wanted him but I got no problem with the pick. I just hope they get that QB room in order. That's where the rubber is meeting the road.

 

We were a top 5 defense against the run during the season. No reason to overreact to a single game with a horrendous game plan. It definitely helps us for the long term, but losing Larry O and adding Harmon doesn’t move the needle for 2025. We were going to be a high end defense against the run either way.

However, the DL room needed to get younger and Heyward has a lot of wisdom to help Harmon develop into a great replacement in the long run.

I dont hate the pick, I think he will be pretty good. But it wasn’t DL or bust. We had interest in exactly one first round DL in the draft and he fell in our laps. Glad we got the one we wanted.

 

But they have their WR1 if Pickens is gone after the season.

 

Harmon is the run stopper. But hopefully turns into more.

Harmon honestly was ahead of heyward physically, in college. But heyward had more technique and pass rush.

 

The only way I trade Pickens is for a first round pick!

It wasn't just that playoff game either they also struggled stopping the Ravens in that regular season loss.

 

There are injury concerns and he's more of a zone guy, both reasons to go for Harmon.

 

Agree about Pickens. If you let him go, it doesn't really matter what quarterback you get. You're going to suck with only one viable receiver.

Najee will not be a full time starter ever again. Complementary back for a few years and as soon as he loses a step it’s on to his life’s work.

 

I agree. I have been on the keep Pickens bandwagon train too.

We don't have any draft capital to move back up.

I think if the plan is Aaron Rogers, that utterly sucks.

What if he decides to retire during one of his beach yoga sessions? I guess we are going with Mason and a couple grocery store clerks.

 

Or, a good pick if Hampton turns out to be good. I thought they’d go WR, but Najee isn’t particularly good and he’s only on a one year deal. RB’s start early. They might split 50/50 for a year but it’s a one and done in LA for Harris

 

Yeah, but a huge cost. A 2nd? Fine. Big FA dollars? Fine. Giving both, however, was not wise for a guy who isn't Top 10 at the position.

 

If we trade Pickens what are we going to do at WR? Trade him for his replacement? Risky.
