This is what I kept saying all last offseason. I thought that Meyers had signed the standard 2-year contract when he became the Steelers O-Line coach February 2022. Meaning his contract would have ended with the 2023 season. I had my hopes high all last season that the Steelers were moving on from Pat Meyers, because it was never reported that he had signed a new contract, so maybe his contract did not expire in 2024.

Where are you seeing that Meyers signed a 3-year contract in 2022?

I may be wrong, but I thought Pittsburgh gave Coordinators 3-year contracts, and Position coaches 2-year contracts.

On the Munch front, I believe Arthur Smith and Munchak were both on the staff with Tennessee.

I was wrong. I hit the Google machine earlier. They re-signed him to a new deal last year, as crazy as it sounds.

I don’t recall that. I do recall that when he was Tennessee HC he was told to can someone and didn’t, or something to that effect.

Ah yes, that is probably what Jeh is thinking of. They wanted him to shake up the staff and he refused. Was fired over it.

Obviously, Munchak would be my first choice.... before Munch, Russell Grimm was easily our best o-line coach and was thought to be the front runner for head coach, before Tomlin came in out of nowhere....
If we were to take a chance on someone new to coaching, I would say try to convince someone like Bruce Matthews to join the fold... Matthews has made all pro at every o-line position and would be a great teacher for these guys

Possibly since I can’t find the article when the word Steelers is included in the search and I read nice things about his relationship with Tomlin

Maybe it was a Tennessee article and I didn’t realize it

In hindsight I did not see any other coaches names
