Has Sanders tweeted anything? I saw a tweet by Brown saying "I better not wake up and find out you signed with NE."

No, nothing from Sanders. That post from Brown was him quoting what someone said to him (ie. "Hey Brown, you better not sign with NE...").

Ohhh, gotcha. I think NE is using him to pressure the other guy they are trying to sign but who knows.

    I'm confused by this tweet.

If he waits til last minute to sign, we can't match it? If there's a 4pm deadline and he turns it in at 3:59:59 he's a Pat?

    What is this tweet implying?

I believe the Steelers get a week to match. Don't know what this guy is talking about, maybe he means giving the Steelers more time, not less, implying they already know he will sign.

So he's suggesting Sanders wants to be a Pat and is strategically withholding the offer sheet until the last minute so the Steelers won't have an extra hour or two to think about what they wanna do? That's the dumbest thing I've ever read.

What's Abiti Kuwlondbladicckboadikccnaoa think about this?

The right of first refusal for the original team is five days, not seven like you see mentioned sometimes.

I was wondering what the hell he was talking about too, and saw that someone asked him.

Lloyd must not have much left in the tank. He's been in the league for 10 years already. 6 different teams in that span. Must be a headcase. What is it about corn rows that makes bruthas idiots? Seems like they're always problem guys (Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress -- didn't Keenan Lewis have 'em?).

It certainly looks that way. It's a position of need for them, they have limited draft picks, and I really haven't heard any other names thrown around.

    Do we match?

If it comes to that...not in my opinion. I don't see them making him an offer we can match.

I have a feeling the Pats are going to become the Patsies again after Brady is gone. Some dark years ahead for that organization.

    It can't come soon enough!

Man, have mixed feeling on this. I like Sanders, think he is better then people are giving him credit for plus we've spent 3 years breaking him in. On the other hand, there are several receivers that I really like in this draft. We could take a big guy and then replace Sanders with another Sanders, Ace Sanders of South Carolina (could use him as our return man too) or DeAndre Hopkins from Clemson.

I'm with you TTF, as I first heard the news of the Sanders visiting NE, I was in disarray and thought we were going down if we lose him. But after 24 hours of speculation, I think the extra 3rd round pick doesnt sound so bad now. I dont think we match either if an offer is made. We will be sitting decent with 2 third rounders, and I also think that we could trade down in the 1st to a lower pick around the mid 20's if we have a guy we think might be there. Trading down could possibly give us another 2nd or 3rd as well. But if he stays, i'll be just as happy.

We do all realize that the 88 getting ready to sign an offer sheet with the Pats is Manny Sanders and not Lynn Swann, don't we? I don't necessarily want to lose him but I'm okay picking up the Pats third round draft pick. Sanders was a third rounder and so far has played about like a third rounder. He also had some injury concerns his first couple of years. If he wants to go get chummy with Marcia Brady, then so be it!

Saw this shared on Facebook a little earlier. Sanders posted in the comments of his Facebook page that he has not been offered anything by the Patriots. The majority of the "fans" posting on his page are terribly classless.

Here's one Steeler fan that wants Manny back. Sign your offer sheet, make plays, be consistent and you'll be a fan favorite over night.. And get paid.

Social media has created a lot of keyboard warriors. These people will belittle athletes for leaving and taking more money.

Who wouldn't leave their current job for a better paying one?

    http://www.steelersdepot.com/2013/0...ffer-sheet-right-of-first-refusal-procedures/

this is where I found my info. It states Sanders is responsible to deliver the offer sheet to the steelers. Once the steelers receive it they have 5 days to match or decline.

I think if Sanders goes...it could sting ....and sting badly.

With him or without him...I would contact Randy Moss and Ramses Barden.....Moss runs a 4.4 when he gets out of bed....and the 49ers used him as a double team decoy almost all year...he could do the same here to open up Brown underneath.
