Blowing it up will only go so far.
Nothing is going to change until Art II decides to retire.

For how many years now have we heard this, but like we said no need to blow it up. Just add a few players and coaching changes and we will be okay.

The point remains. You’re complaining about something that is truly asinine to complain about. This is the third season since Ben retired. It isn’t easy to replace a franchise qb. Expecting it to be a quick and easy transition is a fool’s errand. Of course someone will come along and say what about so and so

You do realize they’ve been rebuilding this whole motherloving team? Offensive line- new wide receivers- new tight ends-new….This isn’t madden it doesn’t happen overnight and not all draft picks pan out. Take a pill

Some things never change, how long since a playoff win? How long do you think we should wait.?

Once again people whining about participation trophies. I don’t care about winning a playoff game. I want to win super bowls. I will wait as long as it takes.

Steelers are not a “complete team” yet, but if healthy I really believe they can beat any AFC team in the playoffs.

Let’s face it, you need a little luck to make it through the playoff gauntlet. Steelers could have the ball bounce their way and go deep this year.

This Steelers team is way better than the last team that went to KC with Ben. I had no thoughts of them winning that game. This year I feel like they could beat anyone.

Having said all this, I do think STD finally gets his wish this year with the Steelers drafting CB early and often. Yesterday proved our depth at corner is anorexic thin.

Somewhere along the way the expectations changed for this team when they started winning games by scoring points in bunches.
Reality is that without a stud QB, it's really tough to survive single elimination games with all the injuries this time of year. Wilson, while far better than we've had the last half decade, is no longer the stud QB. He needs skill players around him to make plays. And the Steelers are lacking skill players at key spots.

I didn’t take it as complaining, think he was defending Ben saying he carried the team and haven’t had that since he left. Which they haven’t. We all knew that it could be along time before they’d find the next one.

I don’t think he meant it that way. To just get rid of everyone instead of just addressing needs like wr, cb is what he meant.
Also, even tho OL doesn’t look good now, give these young guys some time. I feel good about our future OL. Now, the secondary, I realize we have injuries, but even before the injuries they were suspect. Definitely need to address.
Wr position like Pickens and CA3. Draft a wr in later rounds. Hopefully Roman Wilson lives up to the hype next season.
DL also needs attention. Between DBs and DL, this should definitely be our concern in first rd of draft.
Qb situation, sign Wilson to a 2 yr deal. If it doesn’t cost much to keep Fields, sign him to a 2 yr deal also. Not this draft but next draft try and find a franchise qb in draft.
Rb situation, I would love to keep both Harris and Warren if the price is right. If not , hate to say it, but Harris odd man out. Address in draft

The fact is you didn't read what I posted correctly in your attempt to be snarky. So no, your point doesn't stand, it's no use dissembling now, and stop putting words in my mouth.

    .

Look at the schedule in the first half and look at it afterwards, we beat up on some patsies, but we've since dropped 3 of 4 one to one the worst teams in football.

The only thing that needs blowing up is the coaching staff. See if some team would give up a couple of ones for Tomlin, (I have my doubts). Send Ben Johnson a contract with a, fill in the blank for the salary, space. Then package the number ones to try and draft a, "hopefully", franchise QB.

Here's the thing for me... this team isn't a piece or two from being a SB contender. These last two games merely confirmed my thoughts. This team needs help at RB, S, CB, WR, DL, Edge, QB, RB and so on. This roster is going nowhere with guys like Watt on the back 9 of the career; if anything it's only going to get worse from here on out. That's not saying Watt can't have an AP season or two but his best years are behind him. The front office tried their best to win now and failed.

This isn't a hot take nonetheless, I felt they should've blown this up after last season. This roster isn't a player or two away from being a contender.
