Hard Knocks - AFC North

What an episode for a Steelers fan! I thought it was well done. Adding the Kimo hit on Carson to start it off cracked me up. Surprised they didn't put the Shazier hit in there.

Felt like the Cam Thanksgiving scene was awkward and also the Browns OL coach was little over the top for me.

Too many good things to list, but the overall build up to the Bengals game and the Steelers focus was awesome...especially the Herbig stuff!

Going to suck when they lose some games.

 

It was a tremendous watch! Highly recommend.

 

Maybe I was watching with Black and Gold glasses, but I felt the portion with the Steelers coaches was very different from the portion with the Bengals. In short, I loved listening to Tomlin and the asst coaches and how they talked about opposing players and what they expect from the Steeler players. It is pretty obvious why players enjoy playing for Tomlin. He is very clear about what he expects and he uses language to which players can relate.

I can’t argue whether he is as good with X’s and O’s as the Sean Payton and McVeigh’s of the league, but in terms of connecting with and getting the most out of his players ability, Tomlin is clearly at or near the top of the league.

 

It was definitely a good watch. You can tell Tomlin has passion and is an excellent players coach. I didn’t get the impression that Tomlin controls the offense or defense like most people think he does.

The offensive coach for the Browns sure likes the word f@&$ing. Definitely didn’t seem like a players coach at all…lol

I think Harbaugh probably has posters of Lamar all over his bedroom.

 

He only controls the offense or defense when they screw up. You know that.

 

I enjoyed watching Tomlin on hardknocks more than i like watching him in games

I like how the Steelers have desks for their meetings while the other teams have auditorium seats.

 

You can tell he doesn't like it. Doesn't like being mic'd up and everything he talks about individually with players getting out there. They had a segment with Jones going into the locker room and asking him if he was mic'd up and he told him to shut the hell up.

I get why they focused some on Connor Heyward but to me that isn’t that interesting considering he isn’t a primary player.
I hope this just isn’t all about Tomlin, Russ and Cam Heyward. Would love to see alot of the players on here.

Biggest thing that stood out to me was how much better the other teams facilities are than ours. At least the meeting rooms. Honestly though I like that about us.

 

Yeah Facilities were rated low on those teame report cards.
To be fair the Chiefs rated lower though.
Considering what most of these guys are seeing in College though, it kind of makes the team look bad.

 

That can't be true Bradshaw said he's a cheerleader, and some fans want to agree with him .

 

You will never convince me the league didn't backload the schedule with division games just for Hard Knocks.

 

Finally got to watch. That was good. Great film! Nice history of AFCN.

Funny, I was eating Fritos when Mike opened his bag.

 

It was everything I was hoping for from the series but I can tell perhaps why Tomlin has been reluctant to be on because it was definitely not PG and maybe let the real Coach Tomlin be seen. The film study, the team break downs, the coaching was everything I wanted to see but raises lots of questions.

The Conner and Cam stuff was so nice and definitely hit you in the feels.

The Joe Burrow batmobile part was priceless. Dude still looks like a little kid.

Might be changing my mind on Tomlin, based on that one episode. Would like to see more coverage of practices, but he seems a cut above on the general psychology, motivation, and knowledge of what to expect vs. competition. Really looking forward to this show.

Agree with @steerlsrule6 that it can't be a coincidence that we are back loaded with AFNC games.

 

After watching Hard Knocks I think I may have been wrong about some things concerning Tomlin.

 

You have to admit after watching it that that Tomlin has more personality than the other three head coaches combined, and it's not even close.

 

I've been watching HK's since it's inception. First time I ever re-watched one. That was really good!

Can we confirm Joe Burrow is actually not still in High School Guy is gonna look good at 90.

 

Honestly though I doubt it is that important to them. These players priority is salary, wins, culture and coaching.
