Hate it but understand it. He is a shell of what he was. Tackels use to hold him almost every play. Last year he was probably the easiest to block

I think Lewis is a done deal to get a pretty big contract. But IF he takes a higher offer do you think Harrison would be brought back and still get a pay cut just not as much of one? Or do you think all of this money is going to Lewis?

I'd hate to break the bank on one player (Woodley?) or anyone else for that matter! These salaries are getting out of hand:lolol:

I seriously hate to read this. James was what the Steelers should always be about. It like when Peezy left. I'll bet Cleveland is very happy to see him gone.

James Harrison on why it didn't work out with the Steelers:

"There was already an understanding between them and I on what was going to happen. We just couldn't come to an agreement that was comfortable for both sides."

On picturing himself on a different team:

"Yes I can picture it but I'm grateful to the Steelers and the greatest fans in the world. It was a great time there. Now that chapter is closed and it's time to move on. When that time comes I will jump into it with both feet and go 100 miles per hour. That is just the way I do things."

I think every member of the team is going to have to take a good look at their own contracts and see how secure they feel. Harrison is just the latest in line to pay the price for the front office continuing to make bad desisions on player contracts. They over pay mediocre players or make big money deals with little regard to future impact and then instead of honoring a contract negoiated in good faith they tell the player take a pay cut or be cut your choice. Sets a bad precedent and makes it difficult to plan for future success if they continue to have to restructure or cut veterans in order to get under the cap.

I completely disagree. Every team executes contracts that are back loaded, and every player knows that the only number that really counts is the guaranteed money. This is nothing that is Steeler-centric. It's the way business is done in the NFL. What the Steelers do differently than most other teams is execute those kinds of contracts almost exclusively with their own players instead of other teams' free agents. We have also done a bit more restructuring in recent than other teams, but all that does is enhance a player's security. To say that there were bad decisions is a pure case of hindsight being 20/20. Pretty much every case of a Steeler player making more than his production in the past 2 years is injury related - Harrison, Woodley, Troy, Ben last season. Really, the only stupid contract that I see is the Colon contract - and I called that one stupid the day it was announced, so I'm not using hindsight. If those other guys had been healthy the past 2 seasons, we would have been in contention. There's no doubt in my mind about that.

One has nothing todo with the other, and when the Steelers feel as tho Woodley is not worth the $ they will cut his ass to

Is there some sort of "get James' money if he's cut" clause in Woodley's contract that the rest of us are unaware of?

Its funny how everyone is now on woodleys case. I remember saying when he signed his deal i didnt like it. Everyone jumped on me for it. I wasnt saying i didnt want him back. Just thougbt it was to much. Now i will admit i didnt think he would fall off like he has but thought he might slow down. All things considered james had to leave and lamar had to get paid. I am glad i dont make these decisions or i would try and keep all of them
