Well it's apparently a done deal so I guess we can stop the speculation. But is it possible that maybe if he doesn't get any lucrative offers that we could bring him back?

Now the fun begins...reading all of the part-time clueless fans get pissed off and rant on social media.

Im sad to see James go, but it was the right move.

Hopefully it can work out where he comes back, but I think someone will give him more than the Steelers are willing to pay.

Yeah on NFL.COM there were people saying "wow I didn't expect this!!!" and I'm like "well how did you think he would stay?" and "well maybe you should spend some time over at thesteelersfans.com and you wouldn't be such a moron!" lol. But I still hate to see this happen but it's just business. I'm sure the Rooney's are very thankful to him and I doubt there's any bad blood there. It may sound selfish but I kinda wish he would not get a good offer elsewhere. But at least we're gonna get to see some young talent in there. I really hope Jason Worilds can step up. Without Troy who is even the face of this defense now? Da Beard? And he could be on the way out also.

Good. He was on borrowed time anyway. Even if he could have played another 1-2 years at a high level, he's not the same player he used to be and it's only a matter of time before he's completely done. We need to find out what we have behind him. We drafted these LB'ers for a reason, so lets see what they can do. I loved the way James played and he'll be missed for sure, but it was time for him to go.

This is what I wanted (assuming he wouldn't take a pay cut), but I'm still really sad to see James go. It's always sad to see the end of an era.

James' interception return for a touchdown was the most exciting play I've ever seen live. I still remember it vividly. I had a huge house full for a Superbowl party, and was intially super excited we kept them out of the endzone... It was gravy. Then he got past mid field and I panicked thinking, there's no clock left, he has to get in. Then I was damn near heart attack level (at 22 years old) when he get inside the 10.

Without that play, I honestly think we lose that game. It was every bit as big as Santonio's catch at the end of the game.

Goodbye #92. Maybe the NFL's last true bad ass.

So you don't think there's any chance that he tests the waters and finds out there's not a better offer out there and comes back for a pay cut?

There's a chance, but I kind of doubt it happens.

Yeah he's probably been the most feared player for the last 5 or 6 years. I'll always love the play where he ROCKED Muhammad and then just got up and sorta shook his shoulders a little bit. He played like a true predator. Absolutely NO compassion whatsoever. I guess he's as close as us youngins will ever get to seeing Jack Lambert.

Man, this sucks but I have been around since Franco was let go so I've seen quite a few of these situations. The business is what it is.

Yeah I think someone will overpay and he and his agent know it.

Plus you have to consider if the Steelers would want him back at any price. I think its full steam ahead with Jason Worilds and time to find out what they've got in him. Bringing back JH would only prolong his development.

IF Woodley can pick it up, I think he and Worlids will be adequate...for now.

he has a couple of good years left (i suppose) , so a team with some cap room could sign him for a two years 8 milion (4xyear)

It's just hard to believe that he would get a 2 year 13million dollar deal I think. At his age and with his recent issues. But maybe the Steelers couldn't even get close to what he would've like to have had so they decided to split. I wonder if Belichik calls him up? There's news they are looking at Wallace too. Belichik seems to have a knack for getting the most out of older players ya know.

NFL Football isnt designed for players in their mid 30's. Thanks for the service 92, you were a great player but time moves on.

Yeah and how often have the Steelers really regretted anything ya know? It's not like the Bucs letting Steve Young go or something like that. Hopefully there becomes no "Harrison Curse". LOL.

I don't see Belichek being interested in Harrison, I don't think he's a good fit for that defence.

Oh, I agree. It's ironic. When Santonio Holmes left a lot of us were in an uproar and now he's in the same boat as Harrison.

We were in an uproar because we only got a 5th. I thought we should have tried to get more.

That would probably make Worilds look better but can Woodley play from that side at as high of a level?
