So, who do you think gets fired first in-season this year? My top 3 candidates in no particular order are Doug Pederson, Mike Daniels, and Nick Sirianni. If I could bet on this I think I'd go all-in that Nick isn't the head coach of the Eagles by the time we play them in December.

I agree Siriani will likely be the first to go unless Philly turns things around quickly. McCarthy's seat has to be very warm in Dallas. It would not surprise me at all to see the NFC East looking for three new head coaches at seasons end if Daboll is shown the door by the Giants front office. What about the crosstown team, the Jets? Robert Saleh could be jettisoned, too. Stefanski in Cleveland? I honestly believe all those guys could get the boot before McDaniel.

    under achieving.

The correct answer was none of the above. Wow, didn't see that one coming. I guess the Jets don't like a coach who just stands there and stares during a game as much as Rooney does.

@HeinzMustard@HeinzMustard Is this the week for Tomlin's annual 3-game losing streak? How did the Raiders beat the Ravens?

Wouldn't surprise me if Steelers lay another egg in Vegas. Raiders have a good defense... but their offense is inconsistent like Steelers O. Raiders did a good job of defending LJ, the god of sports media accolades.... they took notes from Steelers when they play LJ. Also, Crosby is one of the most underrated players in the NFL.... dude is a monster defender, like Watt. This Raiders road game will go down to the wire, like last 2 weeks.

I think Maxx Crosby is better than Miles Garrett and Micah Parsons... but not as good as Watt.

BREAKING: New York Jets fire head coach Robert Saleh after Aaron Rodgers disagreement (msn.com)

    Robert Saleh wins the sweepstakes.

Seems he and Rodgers have a frosty relationship. Look, I can understand firing a guy with a 20-36 record to date. If Rodgers had a hand in it as the article seems to imply no coach with a proven record is going to want that job.

Of course, they bring up Belichick. My gut is telling me Belichick has coached his last game for one thing. Secondly, he has spurned the Jets in the past to take the NE job in the first place. What makes anyone believe he's that desperate for another gig that he would lower himself to work for an organization that he blew off years ago? I get the impression that life with money, fame and free time is perfect for a guy that has nothing left to prove, especially at his age. Whether you like the guy or not, he's earned it. Maybe wanted to prove he can win without Brady and without having to assemble a competitive roster is enough of an incentive? Not sure, but I think it's not an ideal situation because I don't have faith that Rodgers has much left in the tank.

The way the NFL is this year, I do not think the Steelers win their next 3, even though that is what they need to do, because of the backloaded divisional games.

I think it could be a motivation for Belichick to prove that he can win a SB without Brady, but like you said, Rogers is just about done. I'm sure he'll get a few offers for another HC gig, he might just be waiting for the right offer from a team with a top 10 QB still in his prime. Maybe he's content with his life as it is now, can't say I blame him if that's the case. Has Belichick ever indicated that he might be open to coach again?

he interviewed twice in ATL and reportedly thought it was his job

I think his best chance is Dallas. The article mentions Giants and Eagles.

Doug Pederson isn't going to have to stay in London for 2 weeks, because this is his last game as Jags coach

Trevor Lawrence has all of the skills you would ever want in a QB but he just doesn't have the heart and desire to be any good at his craft. But your right Pederson has totally lost this team, going to London and being blown out about a pedestrian Bears team will probably be it for him.

Yeah, as DoubleYoi pointed out, he did interview for the Atlanta job. I'm wondering if he was asking for more control than Blank was willing to give. I can't see Jerry Jones doing it, either. Jones wants, needs to be involved in running the football team and that will certainly rub BB the wrong way. Plus, doesn't he have a hot, young GF? lol

Exactly. I don't see him taking any job without complete GM, and HC control

He did draft poorly post Brady. They wasted a first rounder on Mac Jones like Pittsburgh wasted on Pickett. There are more misses on low round QB picks than hits. But overall, their defense fell apart and they didn't seem to be able to roll out another mini rebuild, as it were like they did for 20 years. However, national sports talking heads do a major disservice to the job Bruce Arians did with that Bucs team by implying that it only won that SB because they got Brady. TB's defense was very good that year. I think KC was held to single digits in that SB. So, the debate was it Brady was it Belichick will rage on. I think it was the perfect storm. A QB with modest talents with a huge work ethic, a mind for the game and an incredibly gigantic ego who would do anything to win along with a coach that lived, breathed and ate football 24/7 and had total control over all things football. Plus, the two apparently had no problem bending and outright breaking the rules for their own ends.

I will say this. I like Bill Belichick post NE Patriots. I love him on the Manning cast. He actually seems like a good guy with a great sense of humor and it's clear his knowledge of football is encyclopedic. But he had free reign to do what he felt best in NE and it's difficult, other than the cheating BS, to argue with the results. That all said, it's my opinion he will want similar powers if he is offered another HC job, and I honestly feel with his track record he has earned that right. That's why I think when McCarthy gets the axe in Dallas, and I think he will, it's not an ideal situation for Belichick because Jones will not turn over total control. I believe that is why both Johnson and Parcells didn't stay.

If Pederson loses again next week in London, Jacksonville might just leave him there.

I don't think there's any "might" about it. I think he's done even if they win. I don't know the name, but one of his defensive players, a safety I think, outright said to the press that he sees other players quitting out there. That's pretty damning.

Meanwhile Sirianni on the Eagles is getting into shouting matches with the fans. They're both gone at some point this year and I think both will never be NFL head coaches again.

If the Eagles fade at the end of this season like last year Siranni could be gone, then he brings his kids up to the stage at the post game press conference.
