Wonder how this thread would look if we opened season with the back half of our schedule? Play calling would have had to be a bit more liberal. IMO it kinda worked out good for us. Fields has got to be gaining confidence. Even a little is a plus for us this Sunday.

Will Tomlin now go to Russ against the Cowboys?

Fields is likely starting for the rest of the season barring a meltdown and/or injury.

Fields played good enough in the second half to stay the starter. Plus with the O Line injuries we need someone who can scramble.

Actually. I don't know if he will change them , or not, but You can stop the bleeding by getting rid of the ball faster.....

Considering the Oline injuries and having a young and very inexperienced line you think the play calling would have been more quick passes and get the ball out. I don't know if it was the play calling and Fields holding the ball longer for the play to develop/WR to come open or if it's just Fields holding it too long and or the defense playing great coverage.

Agreed. Until we see the all 22 .....it's guessing. Because it could be either, or a bit of both.

I am waiting to see a FP on the practice report. I think Russell is currently only been LP or DNP.

Once you start seeing those FPs it will get interesting .

If we go on a losing streak he will. Unless its clear Fields is putting up points (TD’s) and just losing in shoot outs.

Fields is definitely starting next week but if he has a bad game???? I don’t know how quickly MT will pull the trigger.

if he has a bad game and we lose?

Wilson is starting the next game. Thats my guess.

i bet Fields would love to see Wilson traded this week

Fields doesn't go anywhere. They need to review tape to see where they went wrong specifically on defense. Then they need to review tape to see what they needed to do differently with their offensive play calling and execution.

Pulling the plug on the QB with every loss is not going to bode well for the team.

The colts came out the gate hell's blazing with better play calling and execution. Just like the Bettis days, this team is not designed to come from behind from multiple touchdowns.

no, Fields was not the problem today. Look at how poorly our line played, Russ would have been sacked so many times because he is not mobile anymore. Fields is the right more, especially if our line doesn't get its act together/healthy.

Elliot said the team lacked focus and details preparing for the Colts needs to get better this week. I’m sure none of that has to do with MT however.

I want to see Wilson start, I’m tired of this offense.

First half offense was awful although the Pickens BS killed a likely TD drive. Second half it was actually very solid.

When you have Hall of Fame players looking lost out there getting defeated it's kind of hard not to look at the coaches and say "wth".

Can't put it all on the coaches the players got to execute.

I will also give credit to the Colts for their preparation and execution which was largely superior.

I don't think it would have been nearly close if Richardson didn't go down the dude looked like he had our number out there.

He won the #1 spot in training camp, right? I think Tomlin puts him back in IF he's deemed ready to go. We'll see soon enough.

But, if they play like they did today for most of the game, it won't really matter who's @ QB.

I wonder how close Fields is to his ceiling. It would be impossible to know though now. We’d get a pretty good picture by end of the season, assuming he’s still been the starter.

I still think Russell is the better QB under center with play action.

As I said earlier Until I see Russell Wilson FP, I am not going to hold my breath hoping to see Russ Cook.

If you are wondering in 2023 Justin Fields had 370 pass attempts and only 27 were from under center.

I'd argue it's impossible to know with any QB with only having one NFL caliber starting WR on the entire roster.
