no prob my friend. i knew what you meant. and if it is haley causing the shake up then good for him. i don't think it is but we need to have hope it's someone doing it. LOL

i think art sees it. alot of people question some of art's doings, but he's no dummy. he's been involved in this team along time. his dad's still involved and so is dan. don't think the other brothers aren't still somewhat involved either in a round about way. they still see the comparisons of the past until now. getting good coaching in here seems to have become a priority. we have loaded up the cap with players on this team, so why haven't we got the production for the money spent? coaching? maybe kuglar saw the writing on the wall.

all i know is someone isn't happy with the production and the injuries or it wouldn't have been mentioned. and people are going and coming in places we needed upgraded. they are doing it with proven guys too. i'd love them to pay ike's guy to come here and work with them for a month or two in the offseason and get them pointed in the right direction in how to workout. i have never been a big giemont fan.

I saw an article that said Kuglar is a highly regarded offensive line coach but he had a pattern of injuries the last 2 places he was at, Buffalo and now here. That alone will be a huge benefit if we can shake the injury bug with Bicknell. I like the coaches they are bringing in, my question is why do we always have coaches leave under curious reasons, if they want these guys gone why don't they just out and out fire them? Kuglar left for a HC job so I get that move but Montgomery left for the same position and Amos took a lesser position. Makes me wonder if management told them they were going to be let go but we'll give you a chance to do it on your terms. And that whole fiasco with Arians last year, it's like they don't want to be seen as an organization that ever fires anyone

Uh, to answer that question, a wise man once said, and I quote, "Tomlin doesn't have the kahunas (to fire anybody)".

yes kind of strange , they should make clear that who doesn't meet the standard is fired , maybe they use a silent count :lolol:

i don't think they want to bad mouth anyone and keep them from getting hired somewhere else. because the fact is we did hire them at one point so do we look dumb for that?

you wouldn't get alot of coaches wanting to come here if the last guy was chastised in public. you could be next. i think it was told them that if you have any other interests you could follow, now might be the time to pursue them.

You're right, it was stones!

I don't get it either, TE. There is a lot of pride in the Steelers' organization an rightfully so, but they seem to have the mindset that it they HAVE to fire somebody that it's an organizational failure. So therefore they won't call it a termination or a firing or whatever. It's a "retirement" or a "lateral move to another team", etc.

At a certain point though guys you reach a point where you have to evaluate the job you are at and whether there is a future there. Lets face it other than OC the Steelers organization hasn't been a stepping stone for guys who want to progress beyond position coaching. Perhaps some of these coaches that are making lateral moves are doing so in the hopes that a better position will open up on a new team. I mean DL has been here forever it seems like and so has Butler and you have to think he is getting tired of waiting for that promotion maybe these guys just got tired of waiting.

As to the topic at hand though I asked this in another thread and I will ask it again. Does anyone know how much control over player training the Strength and Conditioning Coach has? Does he set general workout guidelines? player specific ones? Does he talk to the coaching staff about what each player is doing? I know Troy had his own regimen for awhile and different players have different workouts they like so how much authority do this guy and his staff have? I mean do the Rooneys and Tomlin back him or is it more like hey we recommend this but if you don't want to do it that is ok too?

I doubt anyone here really knows the specifics, but they all want the guy fired.

I've wondered myself what the S&C Coach's responsibility or accountability is for that matter. I've never found anyone to answer that for me. Does anyone know the average job span of one of these guys? I mean is there a lot of turn around for this position with a team? How often do other teams fire these guys?
