You're memory is fuzzy, I went to read up on it and the score was 14-10 Miami after 3 quarters. Final was 21-17. So close to changing history!

I go with Harrison. He should have got MVP. Greatest play I've ever seen. Probably why GODell hates him. That play should be on a loop 24/7 at the Hall of Fame.

It always gets under my skin when people say something would have happened if this did/didnt happen. That pass if not intercepted, could have been been incomplete/dropped. Please dont give me the excuse of Fitz(intended receiver) would have caught it or they would have scored on the next play.... Since it never happen.. no one will ever know.

For me it has alot to do with personnal experience.
I was 6 years old when the IR happened but I can vaguely remember playing neighborhood football in my front yard and then all of a sudden the houses all around went nuts and us kids went running in to see what just happened. Obviously I didn't see it live.

FF to Superbowl XIV when I was a few years older and wiser I watched John Stallworth catch that over head grab for the TD and I can remember it like it just happened yesterday. I saw it live and really lived the moment.

Now onto JH's INT and I had a house full of people and when he picked that ball off I leapt to my feet jumping up and down frantically like I was running right with him trying to get him to score and man when Silverback crossed the endzone you could probably hear me like I could hear my family and neighbors back in 72'. I saw it live and that is something that I will never ever forget.

People who saw the IR live are very lucky to have it in their memory bank but for me the bigger play is the INT which resulted in a SB victory.

nobody could that year myron. i saw the IR in person. i was 13. it was this teams first step into taking down the bully on the block that was the raiders. it meant so much to steeler football and the city. the interception was just a great play by a great player. it wasen't a turning point in the league for a perenial loser as the IR was. that play was a culture changer.

Besides the 'we have to sign...over-the-hill vet' and the 'if we don't draft ...., I will just die', this has to be the silliest post ever.

The greatest play ever, as cited by everyone, vs. 'one of' the greatest plays in Super Bowl history ('one of'... Swanny has at least 2 Super Bowl plays as good, not to take anything away from James).

I'm just assuming the age card has a bit to do with people's votes, though.

Speaking for myself, age has nothing to do with it, especially since I became a fan in the 70's and am picking JH's interception. I don't believe for one second that if the IR didn't happen that we wouldn't have gone on to win 4 SB's anyway. It was an amazing play and put us on the map but that's all it was, had no bearing on future success of the organization. JH's pick 6 helped win a SB, easy choice for me.

the waiting for them to make the call seemed like an hour. then chaos ensued, they stormed the field, people were hugging and screaming and i think some shed a few tears of joy after that. the raiders were hated here. i still lothe them to this day. i miss 3 rivers.

really, you think it was a dump? i loved the place. back in 72 though it was near state of the art. it also looked like several others in that day. cinci, philly come to mind. and baseball, forgeddaboudit. that ball came off the concrete like a rocket. LOL just falling on that surface was like the hardest hit allowed today. hehe.

TRS was a huge advantage for the Steelers. I went to many of games there where the place literally shook from all the noise. TRS on it quietest days was still louder than Heinz Field on it's loudest days (an exaggeration of coarse but I still don't see how fans didn't like the place). My seats when I went there were great though. 35 yard line lower level, steelers sideline, just under the deck with a TV for replays above our heads 5 rows in front of me.

Yep, but I actually meant the game against the undefeated Dolphins and it was, looked it up, tight game.
