Not a big Ed Bouchette fan but this answer about Te'o was funny

Q on my blog today: Does Manti Te'o's recent, ummmm, distraction take him off #Steelers' board altogether? Answer:I’m not privy to that information and it’s way too early for the Steelers to take him off their board. However, I like the idea of having a player with an imaginary girlfriend than having a player who slaps his real one and gets released.

Why do you think he will have a poor showing?

 

I don't think he will do poorly at the Combine, I think he is going to be determined to light it up because of all the negative press he is getting. But yeah, no telling what a poor showing will do to his stock, might drop him out of the first round but definitely not to the 3rd as another poster indicated. I still think he goes 1st round.

 

The fake girlfriend thing should raise some red flags about T'eo, but I think people are being way too hard on him over the Alabama game. The Alabama line run blocks at an NFL level pretty much across the entire front 5. There are a few years of solid film that show who T'eo is on the field, and 1 game against an O-line that thoroughly wrecked the D-line in front of T'eo should't sink him from a 1st rounder to a 2nd or 3rd rounder. It certainly will have an impact, but a good team near the bottom of round 1 that doesn't need a day 1 starter will see the long-term potential in a player like T'eo.

The girlfriend thing, however, can really hurt him depending on what comes out between now and the draft. He is going to have to answer a lot of the same questions over and over, and people will be investigating the situation and talking to everyone involved. A lack of consistency in what gets turned up can have a bg impact.
