It wasn't just Jeremiah though, most people had Fatanu as a top 20 prospect, and the Steelers had him as one of their top 10.

All in all a good draft. I mostly never like their 1st picks...., but I'm the one that usually ends up loving, and defending them. Like Ben...I wanted a LT....,, or Najee....I wanted a CB...., but who is the the 1st to defend either when people talk crap about either. LoL.

Payton Wilson hasn't played a snap, and he's already the best coverage linebacker the Steelers have had in many years.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but to say he isn't a good player and should have been drafted in the 5th round based on his performance on the field is delusional.

watch the introduction interview that I posted in the Troy Fautanu thread. You’ll like him. He seems like a good, level-headed young man.

What this chart doesn't have his heart, Keisel had a big one and would leave it on the field, hopefully this guy has one too.

I don't think you can, you either have it or not and by that I mean you either have the ability to slow the game down or you don't.

Opposing receivers just lit it up against Watts this past season, so that's not good. Watts is a better athlete, but I'm getting Tre Norwood vibes.

Absolutely. How could anyone say that he wasn't a good player? My Lord the AP voted him the Bednarick Award as the best defensive player in the country. That award is basically the Heisman for defensive players.

Some reports said he was going to be undrafted due to injuries.

I hope he's a Safety project because I doubt he's an NFL CB.

You said it was about performance and he wasn't that good. There is a difference.

Can you post the reports that said he wouldn't be drafted?

All in all I love the draft:

Fautanu is going to be a solid RT
    Frazier, just love the pick

Roman Wilson, yinzers are going to love this guy

Payton Wilson, probably the best cover ILB in the draft. Major medical concerns as he doesn't have an ACL. But Hines and Lloyd played fine without one.

Mason McCormick, probably my only headscratcher as there were solid CBs and WRs still on the board. I can see the long-term play as Daniels and Herbig are on the last year of their deals.

Logan Lee, seen people compare him to Aaron Smith. I can't say I watched many Iowa games so dunno what we got here. Seems like a potential depth piece/ST hand.

Ryan Watts, seems like a Box S and a ST hand.

Overall I grade it an A. I can see the short term and long term planning at play. I'd like to have seen a double dip at WR and a CB drafted earlier, but can't fill every need in a singular draft with a team that had this many holes. Back to back quality drafts, at least on paper. I just hope that this class makes a similar, and immediate, impact that last year's did. Can see the foundation being built.

I have so much hope for Payton Wilson…his speed and taller, skinnier build, I get vibes of Shazier flying around the field.

Or he could just be a special teams ace. With the new kickoffs players like him may be one more important.

He is a TRUE 34 DE 5 technique, just light in the pants. Aron Smith clone. Lee is just going to take 2 years to have a chance at starting. He can rotate till then. Last true 5 left on the board.

Lost track of my biggest day3 SCB crush, PSU's CSB/RSHardy! Can't believe he wasn't drafted by now! Have ONE bigger hole left on the team now, after Lee.
