Probably. They spent decent money on Queen.

Khan told the media he's open to trading for a center.

You know if you Google Mekhi Becton and Steelers you get a ton of links from 2022 about the Steelers trading for Becton. In 2022 Becton was placed on IR and never seen again that season. After sitting out all of 2023 Becton was back and on the field for 987 snaps or 89% offensive plays.

Becton is still only 24 years old, after finishing his rookie contract with the Jets after going 11th overall in the draft. I still think this 6'7 363lb monster belongs on the right side. His first starts last year were at RT, and then he was moved to the LT position after an injury to their starting LT. I would love to know how he did at RT vs LT last year.

I am going to assume that Mekhi Becton may have to wait until after the draft as every team that needs a tackle is hoping to get one in the draft, because of how deep a class it is this year.

I like Patterson signing. He plays a lot of positions and obviously Smith knows how to use him.

Yeah, they supposedly made a push for Morse, too. He signed for $10.5 million. They couldn't go to $11 million to fix the biggest hole on their team? That isn't even double what they just spent on a kick returner.

one thing that the center position has going for it is the two vets on either side of him.

Cole had that last season. It doesn't make up for sucking the job.

his main problem was his snaps. i'm saying a rookie could very well thrive in this situation (if he can snap the ball). i'm just not as opposed as others to starting a rookie if that is the plan. cole also had trouble against big DT's pushing him back. pouncey had that trouble too but he could get to the second level as good as any center out there so that was a strength of his. cole had many problems that those two vets on either side couldn't help with.

I'm not worried about it if it is one of the top two guys, Powers-Johnson or Frazier. That is my concern. There are really only two options who seem like plug-and-play types. The other top center prospect mostly played tackle in college, so he is a projection.

Having veterans around the rookie would help. It won't be enough if the player isn't good.

43 starts at center for georgia. i keep leaning back to van pran as the guy for some reason. he's won a lot of awards in the SEC. not that i'm opposed to the top two guys but just a feeling and i do think he could be as good as those guys too. hope for the best is all we can do. i wouldn't be opposed to them bringing in a billy price or even Elflein as a backup plan. the price shouldn't be too steep for either. quite a few starts between those guys. health would be the issue to check out.

I still want to know what the Steelers found out about Van Pran at Georgia's Pro Day.

No offense to all you JPJ supporters out there, but JPJ only moved to the Center position last year, while Van Pran has 43 starts at center in the SEC.

Choosing Georgia, Van Pran quickly rose through the ranks, starting 43 games at center from his sophomore year onwards.

Van Pran could be the Center steal of the draft, if he is still on the board in the 3rd round. His value has dropped like a rock this entire offseason.

Another receiver signed away from the dwindling free agent market. Josh Reynolds signed with the Broncos.

Looks like we're banking on Pickens and some ham sandwiches to get the job done for us at WR.

    Can’t fix everything in FA.

WR very much in play the first rd. I would say they will wait until the 2nd rd which has been their sweet spot but who knows with Khan.

Center and WR are probably the first two picks. Would be very surprised if they are not.

I would be tempted to trade picks #51 and #84 to move up in the 2nd round.

The problem is ignoring one issue and creating another during free agency.
