Since Ben retired it apparently doesn’t take much for our fans to get excited about a new qb

Let Wilson start and bring Fields in for certain packages , I can't wait to see the running game with Fields at QB, with Harris and Warren at RB.

I'd assume the Bears preferred to trade Fields out of the conference.

Such good work and throw it right in the crapper with this move. Has Tomlin written all over it. Malik Willis will be the next signing.

If Fields was acquired to be the backup, and that’s understood by all, then this bothers me a lot less than my initial reaction. Or if it’s a competition and Wilson was told about this possibility coming in. I believe it was John Madden who once said “if you have 2 QBs, you have none.”

It's not varsity or little league. It's professional football, and starting jobs are negotiated at the contract table, not in practice.

At one point in time I had moved 7 times in 9 years

I bought a house one Saturday when I lived in Denver and when I went to work on Monday I was transferred

And once that domino fell I'm betting the Steelers were in a much better position to offer less and Chicago had run out of offers!

I didn’t read through everything, but is it safe to assume that the usual suspects are complaining about this?

Freaking Dulac again. The source everyone is talking about that there will be no competition at the QB position, is all based on something Dulac said when Rusell Wilson was the only QB on the roster. I think Dulac also stated that the Steelers were no longer interested in Fileds.

Everyone I am watching that is not quoting Dulac are now saying there will be a QB competition in Pittsburgh this preseason.

Steelers give up a 6th next year, I don't understand how someone could not like this trade.
Fields kinda reminds me of Kordell, with a good o line, strong defense, and strong running game he should succeed.. and if he doesn't it's just a 6th more than likely....

I remember a few weeks ago some here didn't want Wilson. Some on here flop more than a fish out of water

Don’t know how accurate that is because they gave up a 3rd for Pickett which led me to believe that the Bears were asking for at least a 2 so how did the Steelers get him for a 6th (or 4th) for next season.

    Doesn’t add up.

    Hmm....

Sounds to me that Russell Wilson is still the undisputed number one barring injury.

Asking for a 6th round pick is asking too much?

You and me both. I never would have guessed any of this.

I just threw the papers up in the air saying I don't know crap about crap. Because even after Pickett was gone, I literally thought we would go for someone in the 3rd round.

As I stated in a much earlier thread, Wilson and MT have much expectation.
Now you have another mouth to feed. MT may have bit off more than he could
chew. I have watched them for over 55 years can't remember ever seeing this.
Times up MT, you have burnt lots of bridges. Time to put up or go down the road. The Rooney's have called your bluff!
