He’s south of the Mason Dixon line now

Maybe after he catches the ball he will run the other way

Jackson runs a 4.31 forty and has 14 career interceptions. He tore his ACL in 2022 but returned last year to start in 16 games.

If this corner can be a solid CB2 then at least it’s one headache gone and another need on D addressed. I can’t say that I know much about him though.

WR has suddenly jumped right to the top of the shopping list though. This must indicate Omar’s got something lined up.

Whether you liked DJ or not, he was our best route runner. As it stands we don’t really have anyone who can create separation so a lot of work to be done

He wanted Mason and said so it's time for you to go.

Donte is in the final year of his contract. Solid player, move up 62 spots and get rid of an a$$hole. That's cool. Really, really short at WR right now.

Seems like an ok value. Get a starting caliber CB and move up a round and a half on day 3. With poor QB play, DJ’s value was about as low as we could have hoped. Jackson is probably best as a slot CB and should help bolster a secondary that was pretty weak outside of Minkah and JPJ

On a side note, I hope none of you expect a C in round 1… were going WR nearly for certain

Plenty of dudes like that in the draft. What the Steelers really need is a big physical WR to compliment Smith's scheme.

Well, we get an experienced player at a position of need and a higher pick. Now we have another position of need, but there are some notable free agents out there still (M. Brown, Ridley, Boyd, etc.) with a reportedly deep receiver class coming in. Both teams may benefit from this deal.

There will still be some very good WR's in round 2 and later. Xavier Legette from LSU could be available around our pick in round 2. He is 6'3",weighs 225 and is an excellent runner after the catch.

Reading here it was an Achilles Injury. The type of tear he had usually takes this long or longer to recover from. On the positive though, he did play in all 17 games in 2023.

I'm thinking the Steelers need at least 3 WRs.
Draft 1 in first 2 rounds.
    Sign Boyd
Any guesses on the 3rd ?

South Carolina but I agree. I honestly thought Xaiver could run in the 4.3s. Not the worst thing in the world but he is still a monster regardless.

His attitude sealed his fate. So we get a 6th and a corner.

Hopefully a signing is coming soon.

Austin need to put on his big boy pants and become a part of.

I hope so. He had one horrible TD drop for the Bengals but other than that he’s been pretty consistent and a non headache.

Ok, because every time someone posts that seriously (We haven't talked to a single offensive coordinator, we haven't done anything about our qb situation, we haven't even talked to anybody in free agency) within five minutes we announce a major signing.

    Personally, I see the trade between Jackson and Johnson on two fronts. They are as follows;

1.) Both teams now have a starting caliber player on their roster.

2.) Both teams have additonal ammunition to use on draft day.

When the Steelers sign a Safety (not so much if anymore) expect a WR, OT or possibly Graham Barton (PENDING) to be in play with the First Pick.

Won't be using that 7th rounder on a punter.
