I'm a big fan of McClendon. I want to see him start... If they moved him to DE I'd be okay with a NT.

I am actually a big proponent of moving McLendon to DE. I look at Keisel, Heyward, Hood, and McLendon as very good mix at DE who you can sub in and out and not lose much of anything throughout the game and keep these guys fresh. The only way that works is if Ta'amu and Fangupo show they can split/play about 25-30 plays a game.

I don't like the pick, not with Ta'Amu set to put a deathcrush on the NFL soon. Not sure if we needed a NT that I'd take Jenkins over Jesse Williams anyway. Jenkins is a mountain man that is pretty close to an immovable object in the middle, but I think he's pretty close to maxed out and is strictly a 2-down defender. Williams, while not as immovable, can actually move himself and make a play anywhere in the box. Not as stout vs the run, but can stay in on passing downs.

I just don't think at pick #17 we take a NT while electric players should still be on the board.

I agree. Taking a 2 down defender in today's NFL is a devalued 1st round pick IMO. Not to mention, a good portion of teams now go 3 and 4 wide sets on 1st and 2nd down.No thanks to Jenkins for me.
