Lance and Wilson have been significantly worse than Fields, which is really saying something. I don't think the Steelers should be trading for him at all, but that draft was three years ago. The value of those players then is barely relevant to their current value.

The injury greatly affected all that. So did finding a younger, cheaper replacement in Highsmith.

The Bears' GM publicly said if they are going to draft a quarterback in the first round of the draft, they would have to trade Fields. I don't think he would say that if he wasn't open to dealing Fields.

Which means the longer you wait the Cheaper his price will become. If you can wait till draft day his value will be about a 4th round pick.

That isn't necessarily true. There are other factors in play such as other teams that might want him.

Yes, if you wait too long another team may come along and give Chicago what they want. Right now Chicago is wanting a 1st round pick, just keep waiting and the price for Fields will go down.

I was very surprised to read your post that the GM said "they would have to trade Fields". Usually you don't want other teams to know "You have to" do anything. When Miami traded Rosen, the team had a few weeks earlier came out and said Rosen was going to be their starter next year in a full page add. Field's is on his Rookie contract, so they shouldn't "Have to" do anything. I don't have a clue why a GM would come out and say that.

Funny' as I posted earlier, I have not seen anywhere that Justin Fields was given permission to seek a trade.

If Fields best years were in Chicago then I will be like Mr. T and pity the poor fools who end up with him next.

And that makes it right? Are you involved in the negotiations?
Yes he could go to the Falcons, but maybe NE will offer him more.
But since your handling the deal you should be right.

He was certainly better than anyone else on that list but from a 1st perspective, you don’t want it taking 3 years before they find their groove and you certainly want to sign your first rd pick to a second contract.

Even removing Bud from the list, too many misses. Hopefully Khan turns that around, seems to have gotten off to a good start.

If you look at the 20 pick or so after Dupree, very few was better that Dupree,so the context is very important in this case.

Yeah, because Dupree getting close to 20 sacks his last two seasons in Pittsburgh is doing nothing .

Funny opening sentence. "Justin Fields may have won over the Chicago Bears' locker room in his polarizing three seasons under center."

At first I thought this was a good thing to be Polarizing, and then I looked up the word Polarizing.

After reading Definition #3; I quickly realized this is not a compliment for what Justin Fileds has done to the Chicago locker room. Is this a backhanded put-down. Or, I could have missed the author's point entirely.

I don't follow the Bears enough to know if the Bears locker room is just about divided as much as the steelers in what they should be doing with their starting QB next year.

    Dictionary
    po·lar·ize
    /ˈpōləˌrīz/
    verb
    gerund or present participle: polarizing
    1. PHYSICS restrict the vibrations of (a transverse wave, especially light) wholly or partially to one direction.

    2. PHYSICS cause (something) to acquire polarity.

    3. divide or cause to divide into two sharply contrasting groups or sets of opinions or beliefs.

He wasn't the same player after his knee injury, it happens to a lot of players.
