Wow. If I had told you last year immediately after BA "retired" as OC of the Steelers that he would be the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals next season, how many of you would have believed me?

Maybe Wallace can ask Fitz if he can borrow some money...so he can buy a clue!

Interesting that I just saw on ESPN that Colbert didn't rule out drafting a qb in the first round.

If BA had turned them down I bet Haley would have been the guy. The only other option they had was a coach from Seattle who resigned with them today. If Haley didn't set a crazy price, he would have been hired already.

if arians had turned they would have hired horton (that seems angry about the choice anyway because he felt has the job promised)

Man the BA haters have eaten a lot of crow this season. BA is pushed out, turns a 2 win Colt team with a Rookie QB into a playoff team, gets the HC gig at Steeler West. Steelers, in turn go 8 - 8, the OC interviews for HC gig at Steeler West, only to get beat out by BA, our QB talks more to BA to this day than his own OC and the Steelers have more questions marks they have had since the 80s.

Maybe Arians is a better HC than he is an OC.

Sorry, but I still don't miss the guy. His playcalling was atrocious at critical times. For all those that love him, it's not entirely bandwagoning if they choose to follow Pittsburgh West is it? I only wish they would grab Steeley McBeam from us too.

I don't think so, they wanted an offense guy.

Flat out wrong. Haley took himself out of the HC race by setting a very high price, BA didn't beat him out of anything. Az thought so highly of BA that he was the last or 2nd to last person they interviewed. And the other guy signed with Seattle.

It wouldn't be a bad move if it means drafting Johnny Manziel #1 in 2014.

Yeah. Any other team, probably not, but even if you ignore the 463,907 Steeler cast-offs they've picked up... if they'll take our crappy secondary coach and make him defensive coordinator, why not take our crappy OC and make him head coach?

And he might not be terrible at it. It's a different skill set from calling plays. But Bruce wasn't half the OC Whisenhunt was, and Whiz couldn't get anything going without Kurt Warner on his team, so I'm not too optimistic for Bruce.

Gotta agree with this I believe if they couldn't have gotten arains they would have ponied up the money for Haley. I think he really was their first choice but the price was way to steep.

I did a mia culpa on this a few weeks ago. However, I do not regret the Haley hiring. Ultimately, I think he is a better OC than Arians. The problems are in the locker room, the lack of leadership, the lack of caring. Woodley's overweight, Troy's offseason training is subpar, Ben's fat and happy with two rings and a baby, and the head coach wants to be everyone's buddy.

Not only all that, but I would hardly say BA turned the 2 win Colts into a playoff team. I think Andrew Luck had a little bit more to do with that, not to mention the head coach.

They never intended to make Horton their new head coach, he was nothing more than a minority interview for them, Horton didnt have that good of a defense let alone he knows nothing about offense which was their biggest concern, Hortons defense gave up 132 yards rushing average a game this year, in a division that rely's heavily on the running game, so his defense was nothing special since they couldnt stop the run in a run heavy division: I dont expect him to stay with Arians but then again what other team would hire him????
