Hell yes. Just Not for 2 4th rd picks tho.
Howell has some dogdam fight in him.
I feel he is way better than what is on the team currently.

    I wouldn’t give a 10th round pick for Howell.

If Washington would take a 7th rd pick for him then yes, I wouldn't give up a 3rd or 4th for him though.

It is pretty much a given from the new regime there.
They own the 2nd pick, and ideally would like to have the 1st.

Washington could hold on to Howell, who's on a rookie deal.

Most of the chatter from those close around the team, beat reporters, is that Washington will clear the roster.
They are great position to do so. Heaps of cap room, a good haul of picks, they can gain a few more picks by moving some players.
Howell is not part of the picture there. It'll probably come down to offers to make their minds up.

If anyone actually saw him play there.....
What you see is a QB that can win. But when you start off a game down 21 before you work up a sweat... that's never going to be good.
And when they did start like with a opening drive for a TD, the defense promptly flops on que and plays gives up easy TD's.
I'm not going to sell him as a total fix to our woes and I am hoping he goes to a team that play solid ball around him.

It just sad to watch the New York Jets and Washington whatever their name is this year, kill QB's. They are the worst.
It should be illegal for the Jets to even have a QB.

    You may be right.
But there is an odd twist here. Sam Howell is better than Mitch Trubisky.
So, in one train of thought, you could get a Veteran better than your last backup QB.

All riffin aside though... if they make such a move, they better do the homework.
I don't think Sam is a fit here.

Sam threw 21 TDs and 21 Picks.... not a good stat. - Karl

I realize that this was Howell's second year, but Peyton Manning threw 26 TDs and 28 INTs his rookie year. Bradshaw threw 9 TDs and 23 INTs I believe. Howell is a baller and I like his style of play. Sort of a gunslinger. If he learns from the turnovers and cuts down on those, there's no reason why he can't develop into a quality starter.

Sam Howell is stronger and better runner and passer than Baker Mayfield who is going to get3 0 mill/ yr from Tampa Remember Baker Mayfield was run out of Cleveland
with similar stats. Sam Howell is better than Baker Mayfield.

All this talk of hoping we get a qb to give KFP competition. If we get a veteran qb or Howell and they cant beat out the worst starting qb in the league, no thanks

Mayfield was run out of Cleveland because their owner is a moron who didn't just insist on mortgaging his team's future for a piece of crap of sexually assaulted women, he practically begged Watson to come to the Browns after he had initially refused their interest. Far too many people forget that Mayfield played through an injury that severely hampered his ability to throw most of his final season in Cleveland.

Howell might end up being a better player, but right now, he's not close to Mayfield's level.

Ideally I think he fits in Minnesota.
I don't think Pittsburgh will invest in the resources to give him the best chance.
I could be wrong, I don't have an issue with that.

I believe he would excel on the Steelers. Pieces are in place on the team for Howell to have success. He has fire and grit.
    Can't see him coming heretho.
He is definitely tons better than what we used a 1st rd pick on.

I’m not getting this rationale. If Pittsburgh won’t invest in the resources he needs, how would they invest in resources that other QBs need? What are we lacking that Howell needs that Pickett doesn’t need?

I didn't think they did Pickett right.
Canada was a waste, this is by most accounts of his piers. I think that was cheesy.

It's a basic plan, if you are going with a Rookie, you add people to keep his standing, you make sure you've got a run game and play solid defense.
The Steelers answered most bells, far better than say Washington or the Jets.

    I am conflicted on that.
I don't for a minute think Kenny Pickett magically forgot how to play football.
That first year, we saw signs of promise.
Of course, they kept that slamming idiot Canada around... should have done better.

Sam is a tough guy and determined to make plays and he gets it that moving the chains at all cost is the goal.
Aurthur Smith changes my mind some, but I'm just not sure it's a fit.
Since I like Sam, I want to see him in a system that is a good fit.
The Steelers are far from the worst, and Smith ups them a few more notches.
I just think here, you need a QB that's far more ready like the Burrows level.

Those league-leading 21 interceptions were so impressive. lol

It's as if some of you forget that category when you talk about quarterbacks.
