Seems like a Steeler move to me. Tom Arth has only 1 year of NFL experience and gets a shot at being a QB coach for the 1st time in his life.

Not sure if Tom Arth has connections on the team somewhere to explain this hiring. I guess they have the veteran in Mith Trubisky to help QB Coach Arth out.

Mateos connection is Smith, he was the offensive line assistant in Atlanta last season.

I did see some media posting out there about offering Randle El, the current WR coach of the Detroit Lions, the Passing Game Coordinator / WR coach position to give him a bump up the coaching ladder.

Unlike some other former Steelers Randle El was allowed to come back to Pittsburgh and play his last season here, so I thought maybe this would be a good sign that him being able to return to the Steelers.

You need to get out from under that rock a little more often

The diving in Cozumel is great this time of year

Actually 2 years of experience in the nfl if you are interested in accurate facts 22 and 23

And about a dozen years of other appropriate experiments on top of that

IF, Sulivan is moving to Passing game Coordinator, is that a Promotion or Demotion?

As you pointed out Tom Arth spent 2 years as the Chargers Passing Game Coordinator. After being let go by the Chargers when they fired their head coach, he is now coming to Pittsburgh to be the QB coach. Promotion or Demotion?

The Steelers.com website is calling Tom Arth the QB coach, so I would assume that this is correct. Despite all the other articles on the net claiming Sullivan is coming back as the QB coach.
Steelers add to offensive coaching staff

Hopefully he learned something when he was Peyton Manning's backup QB.

    It depends on your expectations.

if Arthur Smith turns the offense around next season, then he's gonna be a head coach elsewhere in a year or two.

So, having a few young coaches, on offense, who learn the system and can possibly take over in one or two years makes sense.

My personal question is when is the Strength and Conditioning Coach going to be signed?!

I do understand that for most people that said position is on the lower end of the spectrum but a teams overall fitness and readiness cannot be understated enough. Remember that the NFL is a game of attrition; the team with the fewest amount of injuries will greatly increase their chances. Hell, even San Fran lost Dre Greenlaw in warm ups but that was a freak accident. Even so, Kansas City ended up planting their flag atop the mountain as they had the fewer injuries.

I agree, this is very important hire. The best player is the available player.

RE: Staffs..... Has anyone noticed that staff that Dan Quinn is building?

How's that? Well these guys that Quinn keeps hiring are out there. They are guys we could use.
I have no idea what Washington will do, or how successful they'll be, but they will be well coached.
