This is great news if we can hire offensive coaches
that hopefully can put players in a position to succeed.

Well that went against the "We are going to take our time with a thorough search" plan.

I do feel behind the scenes that others were contacted but not interested.

Smith was headed to Tampa Bay and Tomlin blocked the door so to speak. Well it's upgrade over Canada so theirs that. We shell see and hope for the best...

Don’t recall seeing the take our time criteria, just the experience one. Hard to take your time for reasons I stated.

Apparently they did look at other candidates and reached out to several college coaches. Wonder if that included Kingsbury.

Some more turnover. Really want them to nail the QB coach.

Looks like Bieniemy has missed out on the OC jobs with a late ouster from the Commanders.

Tomlin should get on the phone and see if he wants to be the passing game coordinator. Or offensive assistant.

Some big names available out there with a ton of football experience. Tomlin can go from one of the smallest staffs to one of the biggest and best.

    Bieniemy
    Vrabel
    Munch

Could really make this a strength by bringing in some or all of them.

Considering we've "parted ways" with 2 Offensive Assistants and our WR coach, thst appears to be the case.

Pickens and Diontae had decent seasons considering who the OC was, and below average QB play.

    Assistant QB coach
    Offense QC coach
    WR Coach
    Glen Thomas (Offense Assistant)

It's a growing list of people on the offense being shown the door. I could see Mike Sullivan being the next to go.

Im sure folks will still find a reason to complain lol

People tend to forget that many of the people being shown the door on the Offensive Side were holdovers from Matt Canada. Given the fact that he is no longer here along with a new OC that clearly wants to install and run his Offense his way, why keep people who limit that capability?!

If anything, I'd expect that Arthur Smith will have near to absolute input on whom the next set of Offensive Assistants should be. Find people whom believe in the philosophy of football that you do so the installation of the Offense can be as seamless as possible. For reference on what not to do, see the 2023 Carolina Panthers; a talented group of Offensive Coaches but all have radically different Offensive Philosophies that didn't mesh well.

Where is Pat Meyer? Please for the love of God say Pat Meyer is GONEEEE!!!

Meyer just finished his second season as O-Line coach, so I am hoping that means his contract has expired as well.

And, I still think Smith will bring in his Ex-OC Dave Ragone as QB coach.

that is exactly what i was getting at when blast asked what my point was. we could bring in many former head coaches or OC's or DC's or whomever but they all have to have the same goal and how they get to it or philosophies. many talk about players taking time to gel or mesh but it can be the same with coaches. it took a little time before with munchak, haley and DLB and the assistants they had. then if they start to have success, you then stand the chance someone moves on to a better gig for them. same as players.

after this new system takes hold our players are changing and if you lose part of that system (a coach leaves) that sets players back too. maybe sullivan is a guy to keep if his coaching is similar to smiths. that gives kenny some cohesion with the same coach while adding to it with arthur smith's new system. who knows?

all i do know is adding a bunch of coaches that haven't coached smiths system is going to take time for them to learn it and then have to teach it. the old watch what you wish for you just might get it theory.

The Browns losing Callahan is huge. He is as good at that job as there is in the NFL.

I wonder if Vrabel is just going to sit out for a year and wait for a head coaching job.

I think we would all love to see Munchak return to the Steelers, but I think that would have happened by now. I hope the issue is just that he doesn't want to return and not that they are stupid enough to stick with Meyer. Watching the line take half a season to get its act together every year is getting old fast.

Bienemy could take on a role similar to what Flores did his one year in Pittsburgh, but that could also undermine Smith. I'm not sure that would be a good idea.

Well he did finally stop DJ from running backwards so theirs that. His contract was up. And if you talking about keeping the divas in check look no further then the Head Coach. I believe discipline or actually lack there of is the Head Coaches job. Not saying that Jackson should have been retained the major issue to me is the lack of Austin's development.
