I think the Steelers better get the Tomlin extension done first and soon or we might have another 1-year OC.If so, you might as well bring Matt Canada back for another lame duck year. And this won't help <kid gloves Kennys> Development so we will have to wait another year to see if he was worth the pick.

why does everyone think paying more money for people is the answer you can pay someone 1 dollar or 1 million dollars but none of it matters it's all hit and miss. everything comes to what do you want to be a winner or loser? Money can motivate you or not. It's not just coaches it is everyone. YOU MUST WANT TO WIN.

I have heard that the reason the offensive line got better in the second half of the season was because Canada was let go. They game Meyer more authority on handling the offensive line, and things really did improve.

Canada may have been having more of a negative impact than everyone realized.

Canada needs to go back to a college team. Maybe even high school.

wouldn't mind Jerrod Johnson as our OC.I mean unless he really sucks at coaching but i doubt it.

CJ Stroud was effusive in his praise of him. Given how Stroud did so much with less in Houston... why not?! Besides, given how Pickett thrives off being off platform in addition to working the intermediate middle of the field, Jerrod Johnson should have a heavy consideration.

Darrell Bevell or Klint Kubiak for me still.

Thoughts on Arthur Smith? He ran a good offence in Tennessee and got great production from Henry and Tannehill with a heavy play action scheme. This would suit the Steelers current personnel in theory, and matches the type of team they want to be I think.

I know everyones immediate thought will be ‘no thanks’ because of his time in Atlanta but he never had consistent QB play there. They always ran the ball well though.

I wouldn’t hate it. His run first and set up the passing game with the running game would be a good fit in Pittsburgh. And if he brings Mike Munchak with him, sign me up as a resounding YES!

Anyone want to bet we don't make a big OC signing but it will be someone we will all be like WTF? My expectation is someone that will completely underwhelm us. Better to be pleasantly surprised than to be crushed once again!!

My thoughts as well. They could do a lot worse, and if Munchak was part of the coaching setup that would be really good. They worked together in the past

I’m still hoping to hear that the Steelers are interviewing Clint Kubiak from the 49ers.

Does anyone know if they can interview him now that there is two weeks before his next game? Or do they have to wait until after the Super Bowl?

J.V. HC. He'd probably be able to outcoach other area coaches more often than not, unlike his laughable past 10 years.

Have to wait until after the SB now. They could have interviewed him during the playoffs though. Hopefully they at least got a phone interview in so they have some idea of his interest in them.

I think if they don’t pull the trigger on Smith in the next couple of days they feel their chances of getting Kubiak are good and they’ve likely already spoken with him. The Detroit job will also be opening up so I think most prospective OCs would find that one more attractive given the QB situation and the fact they were within a couple of boneheaded coaching decisions of making it to the Super Bowl.
