Only Tomlin would struggle with that decision

The one concern is KP's instinct, when there is any pressure, to bail and that stupid spin out to his left move as a right handed QB which makes no sense. My gut tells me that is his built in instinct and will be hard to let go of. Mason will hang in the pocket and seems to throw a better deep ball. If Kenny starts out and doesn't show improvement in those two areas, he will be a bust and we will waste at least one if not two seasons.

If Tomlin wants a new OC he MUST let that coach do it his way and have all control. Let him be as innovative as he wants without any interference even if that means getting away from the Steelers traditional attack methods from over the years. Furthermore they need to get a QB with quick reads and permission to audible from each and every play.

How could it possibly be "geared towards Kenny's benefit" & not masons? I realize this makes you happy but it doesn't make the offensive players happy... You can't undervalue team cohesion especially when Rudolph was the better Qb... Tomlin is making yet another mistake at the detriment of the team & for what?

You dildo, MR is a free agent able to sign with any team he wants, maybe the Steelers
won't match what other teams are willing to pay.

I was so cocky in the 70's as a young man. Paid for that crap. O'Donnell and Stewart gave us some decent seasons but not what you'd call franchise QB's. Not an NCAA guy but past and current members seem to know their sh-t about the talent out there. When Steelers picked Ben R. that old message board lit up like a Christmas tree. First I ever heard of Ben was the second the Steelers drafted him. I knew from the tons of post that the Steelers just got themselves a high quality NFL QB. Friends all said we are getting #5 when they heard the pick.

What I'm getting at is when Pickett was drafted it wasn't even close to the excitement Ben ignited. Not sure of your age but if you were around in the 70's you know what could lie ahead.:(

Kenny is a first rd pick, he is still very much their guy, a QB friendly OC screams working with KP.

If Kenny hits the ground running and the offense is clicking do you really think any of the WR’s care Rudolph isn’t the one throwing the TD passes. Of course not.

I wonder about this too…. How much does Tomlin control the offense and defense. I wish some of the reporters would ask how much input he gives on schemes, game plans, play calling, etc. There has been talk before about him ‘taking over’ the D specifically. I’d like to know how much he actually lets his coordinators, coordinate.

I Still could see Steelers wanting Justin fields. He could be good here if taught right. But who knows he could be better than Wilson or :puking2:Kirk Cousins.

Quite a difference between replacing Tommy Maddox and Ben R. No wonder your Philly buddies bury you.

It is tough. First game has guys who will get cut playing. The other two nobody wants to lose any of their starters before the season starts. Steelers were 3-0 in pre-season, they should have played 17 more;)

I can see it now. Kenny - 1st make sure they are triple covered over the middle and throw it off your back foot across the opposite side of the field. We’ll work on blind slants and covered screens tomorrow.

    Regarding Left Tackles?!

The only players in this class who would have superior abilities to Broderick Jones as a Franchise Left Tackle are Olu Fanshu and Joe Alt. Both are projected to go within the Top 10. Unless the likes of Weidl, Kahn and Tomlin clearly see something in either that all but ensures them that Fanshu or Alt, the Steelers wouldn't trade within the Top 10 to get either..... assuming both are still on the board by Pick 10 anyhow.

As for having no reason to do so, Kevin Dotson is the best reason as to why Broderick must go back to his position. Pittsburgh had, and I mean HAD, a perennial Pro Bowl Right Guard in their grasp. Tomlin's ingenious methodology saw to it that Dotson never reached his ceiling due to playing a position he NEVER has been in. Fast forward to 2023 and Kevin Dotson has played like he is one of the best Guards in all of Football.... and a simple position change was all that was needed to do it.

With any luck, Kahn and Weidl will elect to scout their asses off again in an attempt to find a Day One starting Right Tackle as Dan Moore is piss poor; through and through. Jettison his ass, have Broderick take over at Left Tackle and scout the 2024 Offensive Tackle class like never before. Taliese Fuaga, Amarius Mims or even JC Latham. These three are, more or less, the best available prospects to start day one. While I have been on record in stating that the 2024 OT Class is both deep and talented, the aforementioned three are instant plug n play starters that can contribute right away.

Given how little time the likes of T.J. Watt, Cameron Heyward, Cris Boswell and others have currently, I'd say maximize the capabilities to increase the chance to go deep into the playoffs. Coaching will also be critical here but the personnel is what counts the most.

Me and some friends are bouncing that around. I think Mason is at 700,000. No way he'll get a huge offering but it will be more then 700,000. I have no idea what he'll command but I would think the Steelers if they wanted him back would have little problem matching it??

Good luck getting any reporters to ask tough questions. Most of them are just sheep following the network narrative. They get away from those orders and they’ll be looking at clickbait attention for a new gig.

Patrick Graham from Las Vegas is one that is currently tops on my list. Al Holcomb from Buffalo is another. Jerry Gray from Green is another as well.

If KP really did have something, he wouldn't have the worst TD/passing attempt ration in nfl history of any QB with 500 passing attempt. We are talking the absolute worst over 24 games. It's easy to blame Canada, but Trubisky didn't do much better with the two new coaches. Pickett only had one good season at Pitt when he had the great receiver. He might be an adequate back up, but that's his ceiling. The free agent market for QB is pretty bleak. Rudolph might get a decent offer because of that. His QB rating over 4 games was 104 and two of the games were in pretty adverse conditions.
I think Mason is as good or better than the following starting nfl QB's to name a few.
    Sam Howell
    Geno Smith
    Jalen Smith (really dropped off)
    Derek Carr
    Kirk Cousins (washed up)
    Justin Fields
    Bryce Young
    Kyler Murray
    Desmond Ridder
    Will Levis
    Daniel Jones
    Bailey Zappe
    Tua Tagovailoa
    Aiden O'connell
    Trevor Lawrence
    Anthony Richardson
    Russell Wilson (washed up)
    Deshawn Watson (hasn't showed anything)
    Kenny Pickett

They seem to care, & If,,, is a big question... Do you think the offensive players might know something you don't? Can you find one player on offense supporting Pickett over Rudolph? The real reason Tomlin made Pickett Qb 1 is his contract so we'll see... Pickett has some talent but more first rd busts than success...
