Moved to Monday

Back before 1980, the NFL played maybe the conf champ games in January, though these were just as likely to be played the last week of December. So maybe 2 January games + a warm weather site Super Bowl.

Today, they play 12 playoff games, all in January plus the last week or two of the regular season.
Going from 2 January games to 28 January games will obviously increase the chance of postponement due to snow. (And yes, I realize this won’t be an issue in California and the South)

 

Some fans have it in their head the Bills and the NFL are conspiring against the Steelers by postponing the game .

 

They are scheduled to fly in at 3:00PM.

 

They need to make up their mind, so I know whether or not to call in sick from work .

 

Some Steelers fans think it's okay for 70,000 fans to try and travel to the game in that weather still .

 

Thats because they have a bye and 17 games and stupid rules that you can't body slam players and TAYLOR SWIFT IN KC.

I don't think they move it again. I just watched the mayor's update. They had NWS guy talking about improving conditions tonight. The mayor said they moved the Sabres hockey game to noon to accommodate the 4:30 football game. They play at KeyBank Arena which is in Buffalo.

 

What I wonder is if the game would possibly get postponed til Tuesday, then when does the game versus Baltimore take place? Could be a huge disadvantage if the traveling g team only has 5 days to prepare for the next game.

Report is they are boarding the plane for 3pm flight

 

CBS sports is suggesting that if the weather keeps up, even if they get the stands and field cleared in time, the field may be too hard to play on. They should watch the NFL Films episode about The Ice Bowl.

 

I would have thought the field was heated, but I guess not.

Cold but better conditions expected in terms of wind and blinding snow.

 

Dallas/Green Bay "The Frozen Tundra". Funny that they are playing today in a very comfortable stadium when 50-55 years ago it was frigging cold and snowy in GB.

 

The weather is a whiteout, it looks insane, something like an abandoned soviet town in Siberia on Nat Geo.

 

The turf is A-Turf Titan 50 but it has a Silverback backing so we should be good!

 

The world has gone crazy when it gets to the point that I’m hoping that Taylor Swift gets eliminated from the NFL playoffs.

 

The field might be too hard to play on? This is getting absurd, just have the league mandate that every team has to have a dome. Mandate that no game can be played unless the temperature is 68°. Not one degree cooler or warmer or the game has to be cancelled.
