All I know is this offense seems reborn with Mason Rudolph. It sucks to lose your job to injury, but its about winning games. If Kenny is angry good, up your game and try to win back again next year.

He did exactly what the team asked of him the second half of last season, then regressed when it was time to ask him to do more. The terrible play by the line early in the season was part of it. Poor coaching was part of it. Pickett's own inability to make progress was part of it, but he seemed to take a nice step forward against the Bengals, then he injured his ankle and the entire team **** the bed against the Cardinals. I think Tomlin's approach is the right one. Stick with Rudolph now, then re-evaluate in the offseason.

Madden has connections within the Pens organization. So I give his reporting about them some merit. He gets his Steelers content from beat writers that may or may not have inside info. He lost his best source when Stan Savran passed. Usually anything Steeler related from him I take with a grain of salt.

I'm amazed that any beat writer would tell him anything. When I was in that community, I didn't see any respect for Madden. He was one of those frauds who would show up in the press box and not even go downstairs for interviews when it was over. The rumor was he wanted no part of dealing with players who might be unhappy about the steady stream of bull**** that he said on the radio and wrote in print outlets.

    I would agree...
But sometimes I think to myself, 'what am I not seeing?' and I actually go back and review film/plays...
And I find stuff like bad execution or bad design or maybe just a poor decision...
There is plenty of blame to go around. You're not completely wrong.... maybe just the level of harshness.
I don't have a problem with it. It sounds like I did in the final days at Washington for me. Man, I was unhappy - the suck just never stops there.

I figured as much. The only hesitation I had was that my information might be out of date. I moved away a long time ago, but I doubt Madden developed any sources or a spine since then.

its a toss up if we make playoffs either way-- Start Kenny-- if he sucks put Mason in if he sucks--- then draft a QB.

many players thru the years lose their jobs 'due to injury' - it is next man up and if that guy outperforms your average work, sorry man......

that is how life works, ladies and gents.

he should not start he has or had screws and plates in his foot I don't know but that doesn't sound fun or good for running or moving around.

    that's it!

come on man, chill out, some here. it's a MESSAGE board. some of us are still peeved that we lost to back to back 2-10 teams, were you around for that? some here have short memories, it seems.

we could be excited, you know - looking at 11 or 12 wins, with some focus about 5 weeks ago. but here we are, hoping for BUFF or JAX to lose and grateful that the Ravens are juggernauts and will rest 22 players

    how lame.

LOL. I doubt they are beating the Ravens if Rudolph doesn't play well. They aren't benching Rudolph for the playoffs if the offense is still clicking. By then, Pickett would have gone about six weeks without playing. They aren't stupid enough to throw him back out there for a playoff game.

The last part of your argument makes even less sense. You want to throw Pickett in there after sitting for six week. If he plays poorly enough to be benched and Rudolph doesn't light it up in relief, that one game is what they should use to determine if they should draft another quarterback. Comical.

Glad to read that his colleagues see him as a buffoon too.

I just wish those colleagues and the players wold be vocal and call him out and expose him for the piece of s**t that he is.

I know, I know...professionalism. But those who lack it, don't deserve it in return.

The day that fat f**k eats himself into the Waffle House in the sky will be a great day for Pittsburgh sports radio

If Mason beats Baltimore and they get in, Masons starting or that team will quit before the game starts.

This message board might be unbearable if Mason stinks it up and they lose.

He dislikes both Bettis and Ward because they refused to do his radio show. He has a cordial relationship with Ben and rarely, if ever bad mouths him. I agree with his assessment that all three major sports teams have shills. He claims he isn't and that's his justification for saying whatever the hell he wants. Everything is a work with him. That's why he has little to no credibility. He is to sports journalism what sports entertainment/pro wrestling is to sports in general.
