Exactly the kind of setting I thought we’d find him in, lol. Isn’t he a game warden?

I wish he was a little more visible, but his reclusiveness sort of adds to the legend of Jack Lambert, don’t you think?

He and my brother could be twins. I'm not even kidding.

He looks great. Man's man. Jack never, ever tried to pretend to be something he isn't. You have to respect that.

Yes it does. But can you imagine him coming into locker room to fire them up for a playoff game?

I think from Jack's perspective, when football was over for him, it was over. Other than the HoF ceremony. It was no longer a priority in his life. He moved on from it to raise his family and to pursue other interests. I understand for some players, the transition from the game to "civilian" life is extremely difficult. It might have been for Jack, and he was just good at hiding it. But I don't think so. I think he's a mentally tough, opinionated man that lives his life on his terms. Again, you have to respect that.

Should be, but at the time of that pic he has just received a call from his ole team, "jack we need help, you available?", "let me ponder as I finish this smoke, do they still have ashtrays behind the bench?" lol

Oh I know. My dad passed when he was 85 but even at that age he still had a grip that you couldn’t get out of once he clamped down on you. He was a WW2 Navy vet and worked back breaking, blue collar jobs in the timber and mining industry and was just mountain strong. I never gave him too much lip, lol.

I think I have posted this before, it had to be somewhere in the 74-77 region. It was during deer season in PA, and honestly do not know how the players used a day off during the season (probably Monday and or Tuesday). Anyway in school a girl got really excited, her dad had a camp outside of Centerville (near Titusville/Meadville), and said jack lambert had been there to hunt, then she shyly said, "but I did not meet him at the camp, he was at the local RR/bar (which would have has Sunday hours) and he was DRUNK." not just drunk, he was drunk as a skunk, lol. Her idol drinks! Oh my.

Wise man, old school Dads. My Dad had a board that said "The Persuader Amen". We had to go get it when we got it, my sister would be balling the whole way. If we got it, no matter what time of the day, it was right to bed afterwards. That sucked if it was 1pm in the Summer!!

A friend of my son-in-law worked for the electric company and was reading the meter outside of Lambert's house when Lambert walked over to him and told him to come in the house and have a drink with him. The young man said "No thank you Mr. Lambert I am not allowed to drink on the job." Lambert growled at him and said " I didn't ask you if you were allowed to drink on the job, I told you to come in and have a drink with me!" The meter reader went in and a beer with Lambert lol.

My grandfather was born in 1900 and was also a Navy vet. He never owned a power tool, he dug ditches, wells etc with a pick and shovel. He burned wood but cut down his trees with an axe and sawed them with a huge hand saw. I remember when my older brothers were around 20 years old and grandad was around 70 they would arm wrestle him and they couldn't put his arm down.
