    Chuck Noll is 1
Cowher and Tomlin are 2a and 2b as far as I’m concerned.

I'm curious as to where you're getting this. The NFL averages are a year or two old, but here's this year's scouting staff vs (those averages):

    VP/DPP/AGM: 2 (1.6)
    Director/Asst Directors: 3 (1.7)
    Scouting Coordinator: 1 (1)
    Reg/Nat/Exec/Sr: 2 (2)
    Scouting Assistants: n/a (1.8)
    Combine Scouting Dir: 1 (0.4)
    Area Scouts:7 (5.6)
    Pro Scouting Dept: 1 (3.1)
    Analytics Dept: 2 (2.9)

    Total: 20 (20)

That's this year, and doesn't account for all the years leading up to now. I would say I got this from Stan the Man Savran(RIP) talked about it all the time, DK, has mentioned it more than once, and Ed B. Since I don't work for the Steelers....., and I can't see the all 22 on this....I have went by what they have said more than once . Now have they been lying to us about it before.????....You will have to take that up with them.

    1) Fail. You don't know the Steelers very well, do you?

    2) Really? It's not Tomlin's job to hold "court" for public consumption.

    3) How does a coach have a .630 win % (3rd best for active coaches) by constantly being out coach? I don't get it.

    4) How is the BB coaching tree doing? A HC job is not to spawn coaching trees. A HC job is to help his team win as many games as possible.

The negative vibe that you give off is........

I don't happen to read any of the local guys (grew up as an OOM fan pre-internet, so habit I guess). But there's nothing out there that indicates a radical change in the scouting department aside from brining in Weidl to serve as Assistant GM and oversee talent evaluation, nor has the rest of the league significantly cut back on theirs, so their claims would seem a bit dubious to me.

As for the point being discussed above regarding Tomlin's draft involvement, here's an article from the Athletic penned by Kaboly after Kahn's hire as the new GM that touches on how Tomlin and Colbert handled the draft process:

That play and his reaction caused problems on the field, off the field and in the locker room.

The 32nd pick the Bears gave up was higher than our 49th pick. Your original post said “the Bears didn’t use a pick on claypool”

Tomlin is a polarizing figure. You think either he is very good or overrated.

Saw recently a video of Bradshaw heavily criticizing Tomlin. Then again, Terry is no intellectual and criticized Noll.

My thinking is there is no alternative. Who could we grab to take his place? He is a "players coach" and nowadays with almost all the players being millionaires, maybe that is not as detrimental as it used to be. However, don`t like how he is slow to deal with locker room cancers.
