GA didn't win their conference. The 5 teams ahead of them all won their respective conference championships.

That's the coaches poll? They actually believe FSU should have 13 votes for 1st? Really? Did they watch them play this year?

I guess the QB situation was just too much for the committee?

They are doing their best not to see a championship fiasco like last year where Georgia beat TCU by over 50 points. A 65- 7 Championship game doesn't make the competition committee, or anyone feel good.

I still think it's crazy that a team that has only lost one game in like almost 3 years, and that was to Alabama....is out of the Playoffs from one loss.

listening to different sports talk shows and commentators today that really is the general feeing. The 4 best teams, while that is still in debate, the 4 in should bring more competition and a better viewing. If they had the 12 this year, while some of the early games might be challenging, the differences really begin to show and these are all from major conferences. It's the beginning steps, and eventually will likely get to 16, and probably come from a of 60 to 80 teams in a couple of conferences. The old system will be long gone and money again will speak for the day.

You know I was thinking earlier, about how this outcome ,helps sell next year's expanded playoffs.

Saban will do his work, but 'bama really has not been as impressive as usual. Texas is damn good, and ''bama barely beat a half assed Auburn, and if the 4th down play against Ga would have been reviewed they well may be sitting on the sides. It happens, and Saban is a difference maker, but this is not one of the great Alabama teams.

if the standing stood, and 5 through played, Ga would likely be the only true serios contender, but I would like to see what Missouri and Oregon would do, that to me is the interesting thing, upsets most likely in the first round, but if a team goes on a roll it will be fun to watch.

One day all the cards line up right, this is what happens in the NCAA men's basketball playoffs.
a lower seeded team knocks off the higher seed. If these 2 teams would play best of three maybe a different story
but they don't in single elimination. This what makes the NCAA BB tourney the greatest thing in sports. Everybody has
one game to prove their worth.

I wonder how many players will skip the non championship bowl games? This why I think these are stupid.
Guys with a good shot going to NFL are not playing in these bowl games.

And that is another reason why they are going to a bigger playoff . That way players will still play for more games.

I agree. I’d love to say the Super Bowl is the greatest sporting event, but it’s more spectacle than game. It seems like the game itself is an afterthought. If it’s anyone but the Steelers, I watch with tepid interest. The commercials are fun though.

I've heard the argument for 2 days on radio, but honestly the wins from the last 2 years have nothing to do with it, it's based on this year. They lost to 'bama, that alone loses that spot. I get it, they probably are better than the other 3, but that's the issue we have had for so many years, I actually think they got it right in leaving FSU out, I think GA is better than Washington, but they beat Oregon 2x, Texas beat 'bama, so to few slots. lol

I won't let it bother Me, but could You imagine if it was Michigan, and they had won the last two National Championship, and the only loss in almost 3 years is to Ohio State who had won the national championship two years before, and their last loss was to Ohio State. $hit everyone would be losing their collective minds , and saying how cone both teams are not in it.
Here is the reality. Last three National Championship wins have been Alabama ,Georgia, and Georgia, and Georgia's only losses in all that time have been to Alabama. Think about that.

To be fair, that's why all the FSU players opted out. They knew Georgia was coming to play regardless. This just shows you the different mind set of the Georgia team. They were going to beat the brakes off of what ever team they got in the bowl game. They do know care that you have guys opt out, they are coming to roll you and make it look bad!
