There lots of things that grate on you after 17 yrs, his press conferences are getting ridiculous, like when they put up 104 yds of offense in a game and Tomlin spoke of the defense not tackling well enough. His lack of adjustments at halftime , his poor clock management , even his poor challenges. He is not a strong X's and O's coach and has not done a great job of developing players or coaches. Week fundamentals , lack of discipline dumb penalties .

What bothers me the most is the Steelers have drafted poorly in the last 10 yrs and I am just guessing but I suspect Tomlin was more involved in the draft. Too many reaches, too many tweaners, instead of best player available it became reaching for need. There have been a few drafts where 5 yrs later there is not one player from that draft left on the team. I only suspect it is Tomlins doing because of a noticeable leaning towards guys from Maryland.

Do You actually believe this. Yet He has started more rookies than Bill Cowher ever did. Especially on Defense....So how does that add up with anything You said??? You should have just wrote the post as .....I dislike Tomlin a whole lot, and want Him gone.....at least that would have some truth in it.

Some fans will make stuff up to fit their narrative, the Bengals had been putting up points and won three straight games, the Steelers swept them and held them to 10 and 11 points I guess the coaches don't get any credit though .

You do realize that none of the rookies you reference began the season in the starting lineup don't you???? That' even as they showed that they were the best option.... The coaches made every excuse not to start Joey Porter Jr while Levi Wallace was getting burnt week in and week out.... He didn't start until Tomlin had no choice but to put him in full time..... Dan Moore remains one of the worst O-linemen in the league and he still protects our qb's blind side, while Broderick Jones plays out of position on the right..... Keanu Benton made the starting lineup through injury, despite producing in a small sample size prior.....
Offensively, Tomlin was quoted last season as not wanting to go into the season n with a rookie qb... but Mitch Trubisky stunk so badly that he had no choice..... Najee was a no Brainerd when he was drafted.....
So, hell yes, I believe what I wrote.... the proof is right in front of your face if you actually choose to see it rather than be an apologist that's satisfied with middle of the pack year in and year out

You do know that type of thing happens to every NFL team, I always put more blame on the players, if Trubisky did his job well the team wouldn't have lost three games in a row. Tomlin deserves criticism for not benching Mitch sooner than he did, the team probably could have another win or two.

Not at the frequency that it happens to us...
We are the only team in NFL history to lose back to back games against 2 win teams

I don't care if they keep Tomlin-- but he better start making right decisions. With time -outs picking the right players to play in games<QB> winning challenges -stop living in his fears. playing better offence blitzing TJ AND HIGHSMITH MORE AND MORE ---and eating more and more:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn: not spilling it on us making us.:mad::puking2::frustrated::frustrated: -----:confused1:---everything. We just want a Superbowl it's not too much to ask--is it ??????????:cry:

Even with all the talk on this board and in the Pittsburgh papers I never thought they'd get rid of Tomlin.

Although I did think Mike would call it a day next year when his contract is up but if he get's an extension I was wrong about that.

Which is why I want to scream when they fill up PNC Park.* You know it, I know it and MLB followers know it, the Pirates will not be good in 2024. They don't even attempt to reach .500. Thanks to how MLB is set up Nutbag makes good money and couldn't care less if the Pirates are competitive.

    * I don't live in the Burgh so not sure how true this is but I heard they estimate that 50% of people going into PNC are not Pirate fans. The Point is a nice area for mini vacations for people. I know a ton of Phillie fans that go up every year. PNC Park is an amazing place for baseball. Damn shame they let a triple A team play there.

Yes, and that's a very big decision. One that more than likely has kept the team from making the playoffs. You made mention in an earlier post that the coaches don't get credit for the wins but then you turn around and put the blame on the players for the losses.
I guess I just don't understand why people don't think that both can be blamed. This board has a way of making everything black or white. The "Two things can't be true" Syndrome

The Pirates are the reason the St. Louis Cardinals can draw 3 million fans and still don't have to spend money to compete. The Steelers mediocrity mirrors the Cardinals in so many ways - living off the legacy of their past, while raking in huge profits, while the value of their franchise increases.

LoL. I'm not an apologist. I'm a realist. I don't blame one coach for something the other coach did less of. I believe You are knowledgeable Steelers fan....so go back , and look at all the draft picks with Tomlin, and with Bill....we wont go as far back as Noll(He's the Emperor anyway). Now Honesty....not with bias, but honestly tell Me who started their rookies faster. Dude I totally get You , and anyone not liking Tomlin, but why make up stuff?? Just say You don't like him. A big way I know this is true is....when I call people out on stuff they say, and prove that I'm right....they don't say....well Your right Tomlin has started more rookie, and faster than Cowher.....they say....Your an apologist, and like middle of the pack. LoL.
Now instead of making up something....Like I said... if You don't believe Me it's on the internet....You can see when players actually start....Tomlin has started rookies way more, and faster than Cowher has. I don't mind You not liking Him....I do mind You making false claims. Like people with .....He went , and got Trubisky, or He made Trubisky throw a certain route. LoL

So we are the 1st team in history to have back to back 6td games.....I guess He only gets credit for the bad. LoL. It's like the draft, or FAs.....if its a bad pick it's Tomlins....if its a good pick it's the GMs....you know how lame that sounds???

If you go downtown on gameday against the Cards, Cubs, Phillies, Dodgers or occasionally when the Red Sox or Yankess are in town, the numbers of away jerseys and gear you see is staggering. It's similar to what we saw when the Steelers played at Vegas earlier this year. And yes, even when the opposing team is not heavily supported, many fans are there because over the years, PNC Park itself has become a tourist attraction because of the park and the view of the city skyline. I refuse to allow myself to be drawn into even having a tiny thread of belief that hard-core Pirate fans have because as long as Nutting owns the team, any hope for even a division title is pointless.

Personally, I've had enough of Tomlin putting up with too much trash from his team. It's akin to being around irresponsible parents of unruly children. I don't want to hear anything about these guys being adults and all that crap. People make that argument to fit a narrative and then when they do something wrong, they will say they are still kids. I'm not saying these players need to be role models. Just act like you give a damn about something other than yourself. Act like winning matters instead of just collecting a paycheck.

You really have to look at that again..... Bill Cowher had no issue starting rookie offensive players... it's the defensive players that were held back... Partly because Dick Lebeau's system required major adjustment, and partly because we had a stacked defense and natural progression from one to the other had to take place (think Cam Heyward waiting behind Aaron Smith and Brett Keisel)... .... totally different situation from Tomlin holding someone back for the sake of a veteran despite that rookie being the better option..
Offensively, it was quite different as rookies (especially on the o-line) got in immediately..
The only rookie offensive player Cowher wanted to hold back was Ben, and the football gods intervened with injuries to both veterans.... now I challenge you to go back and check those facts

I said mainly D players. But You can't pick , and choose....more players were held back in Cowher time than since Tomlin has been here. This is not stating that Tomlin is better than Cowher, or the other way around....it's just stating what I went , and looked up, and it doesn't fit what You said. No more than that My Friend.

Roethlisberger and Kendrick Bell won the offensive and defensive rookie of the year under Cowher....No one did under Tomlin
