Maybe. However, you're speculating just like the rest of us and I'm not willing to go so far to say that Art has no interest in winning, only the bottom dollar. If I was to believe in Rooney's futility as owner, I'm not sure I would see much reason to support the team anymore.

He also has no say in the defensive or offensive play calls. That's what the coordinators are for. Tough to hold the HC responsibility for anything that happens offensively or defensively during the game.

No ....You are hard headed. I blame Him for coaching....I've said thus a million times. I blame Him for not having the team ready....not the team that is put out on the field. I blame him for not having certain players coached up....not the players He has.....I blame Him for not kicking a field goal , and then chasing 2 points all game. What I do is blame Him for Head Coaching.....Lots of You blame Him for HC, Gms, and President of operations job. Do You know how I know half of You that do ....don't even believe Yourselves???
One example......is You will say Great Pickup in FA By our GM, and or Great trade, but if it doesn't work....why did Tomlin bring in Trubisky. LoL.
Another example: The GM really hit on the picks this year....later....I can't believe Tomlin drafted this guy. That's how I know half of You don't even believe the $hit you are saying. He can't one minute go get all the FA, and the next it's the GMs getting them, and He can't one minute be doing all the drafting, and the next it's the GMs. You can't have it both ways, and anyone with a mind knows this. You don't like him....just say....I don't like him...don't make $hit up.

 

So according to you, you should only support a team if you believe in the owners and coaches. Weird. If its just that it bothers you to hear negative comments, you should not be on a sports message board.

Well the Steelers are synonymous with the Rooney’s. If you can’t come to terms with that you’ll never be happy with this team.

 

In reality none of us know anything unless we are Mike, Khan or AR2, all just speculation. I enjoy reading everyones posts for the most part and just shoot out my own thoughts, but don't get too riled up unless you get people making accusation about your character or who you are. Well I do know this for example: If it's a good draft pick is the GM did great, and by the exact same people....if its a bad pick its...Why did Tomlin draft Him.....another example, and I've went back, and checked the people that say it.....they will say Wow what a wonderful FA signing that is by our GMs.....those exact same people will say.....Why did Tomlin even go and get Trubisky. LoL. This....This is what I'm getting at. Do You not see the Hypocrisy in that??? I totally get people not liking Tomlin....they are able to their own opinions, but don't jump back, and forth about what He does. If it's bad....He's did the GMs job....if its good the GM did it. LoL

 

Ok, someone had a awaking against the Bengals. We had a QB give us one of the best games in a couple years, give or take, for our first win this month. Now here's what we're all debating here. Whose going to get the snaps in practice this week? What's Iron Mike gonna do? Stick his chest out and declare Mason the starter. Or throw out his Chin and call on Pickett. Don't bet on this, it's a toss up.

 

Tomlin controls what he wants to control.

He expects his coaches and captains to have a role as well. He does not busy himself with the minutiae. If a player doesn’t have the right spikes, he expects others to address it, not him.

I fault Tomlin for not having an imprint on the offense; though we may all be kidding ourselves with that thought. I’m sure it’s been his plan all year to protect the ball and let the defense keep the game close.

It’s been well documented on this board how recent drafts have not panned out. For example: HighSmith is the only player remaining from the 2020 draft. This causes there to be a talent gap with the team compared to the league.


I agree that he has not hired the best coaches. Likely he hasn’t moved on soon enough due to the team not wanting to pay for folks not on the team.

Frankly, I cannot not predict which way the wind will blow. Will he sign an extension or have his contract expire? Time will tell.

 

Unfortunately his pathetic playoff numbers would hurt that beautiful resume.

 

Pickett is curiously absent from your post.

 

KFP is still a unknown IMO. I'm not sure We can seriously say what He is yet, and playing with Trubisky as a mentor is not helpful. Hope You are having a Merry Christmas.

 

Obviously I am talking about Art II, not Dan or Art. Been a fan since the early 70s. I feel bad for fans who only know the Steelers under Art II and Tomlin.

 

While we were hanging up “Championship” banners on the wall this new age Steelers fan can hang up “never had a losing season” ones. Sad indeed.
